I think I get the comments, we all like a light bass, but a body that's too light can really stand out on a quality bass, just feels wrong

I get the impression that if you get a good Ampeg form new it'll often stay good, but if you get a bad one, best not to try to get it fixed, just return it for an exchange or refund, because they have a nasty habit of staying bad.

But I guess the thing is, for the TD fans, it was about being there, I didn't get that, but my mates did, for them being with like-minded folks in the same place at the same time sharing the event was the point, not the music or the performance, a bit like church or sport for many. Plenty of folks still go to watch Gillingham play football for much the same reason.

I don’t think anyone said it’s not a great solution, but the O/P suggested it was the only solution. I love my simple rig, but I also love RHCP. I can’t imagine a Flea without a lot of FX, but he still cuts through the mix?
