  1. i suspect, and always have, that he lies more to the naive than the nasty 👍

  3. £20 would cover it 👍
  4. Yes but hardly the first or the last to come in on the off beat 🙂
  5. And vice versa 👍
  6. OK let’s try again.. Rhymes with mice Rhymes with curls Go for it @silverfoxnik 👍
  7. No you haven’t
  8. That’s been around a while Mick, even if I were in the market and the cash were not s problem, the seller’s description snd attitude would say no. And these were the worst relic job Fender ever did, it’s actually a pretty decent instrument but that finish looks and feels amateur 😕
  9. This is getting complex. A few years back I lost a few hundred quid when a bloke here ripped me off. Several guys PMd me and offered cash to help me recoup and at the time it was hugely appreciated. @Dood is the f***ing man, he has made a huge contribution to bass culture here and elsewhere over the years, so let’s help him out with no complexities? If we want to help out - which I do - let’s do it, and let’s stay off this thread if we don’t want to?
  10. That is what I wanted to say but thought better of it. But yes, stop counting and get a feel for it, and the one will come more naturally 👍
  11. That is a very very nice bass 👍
  12. Either way I’m not seeing the problem, it’s not a song to become over focussed on counting?
  13. Do I detect a subtle but nonetheless discernible subtext of growing affection for our old friend here folks….?
  14. Stingray plate won’t fit, I tried on standard Fender P. I’ve got two Precision versions somewhere, if I can find them you can have them 😀
  15. Why rehearse or refer to an idiosyncratic live version which could be s mistake anyway, studio version is straight forward
  16. Hello mate, Canterbury/Whitstable in Kent, I can post also 👍
  17. Ha ha, good point, have to say I'm really enjoying playing old Motown stuff on the Enfield fretted, flats, tone fully open, getting that lovely articulation to a note that only a fret can give you. But fretless still feels like home
  18. I'll give you a couple of clues Nik 1. Sugar and ......... 2. Boys and ........ At the time, she was VERY recognisable, all credit to her 👍
  19. Will do 👍 Will do 👍
  20. Sports gear requires some interesting cases, try flying with a javelin
  21. Is it you? It's me? Love it, although from an existential standpoint could he have answered any differently......?
  22. In a way that's what I was referring to above, because a lot of slebs are easily recognisable because they're acting like slebs. Lovely when they don't as you suggest (although given the media these days if I was famous I'd probably never leave the house) 👍
  23. Mine arrived earlier this week, very cheap and very fast from Scan. Best bass accessory I've tried, blows the PJB gear out of the water on functionality, usability and - surprisingly to me - on core tone (although let's face it the PJB headphones let the side down awfully). Strolling around the garden playing bass to myself, living the dream! Why no-one did this years ago is beyond me, thanks for the recommendations folks 👍
  24. So following the stocktake I have done some experimentation The rosewood neck on the blue Precision (second top) works best on the natural Enfield The ebony Jazz neck on the natural Precision (top) works best on the 3TSB Enfield The Status neck works best on the Blue Precision, in fact surprisingly well The maple fretless neck works best on the natural Precision The rest all work very well as they are. Neck body combinations are like rhythm sections, more about magical chemistry than objective quality 👍
