  1. Too much force fo me to say it's shocking.
  2. Yeah- jazz bass is a big world.
  3. About those top lists. The main important thing is who mades them. There could be 25 different lists made by "bass specialists" all around the world and all of them may differ at 99%. Finally we are here to have fun and each have it's 1#bassist, to enjoy listening and learning from, so no sense of those lists.
  4. No, reggae is not much popular in Latvia to play in bands, but loved to hear a lot. I have played some reggae covers and all were satisfied.
  5. Yeah, i am not the super fan of reggea, but each time i hear it on radio i feel good and satisfied. Also reggea is one of the music generes that some how makes me feel lucky and more satisfied of the current situation. It's fantastic.
  6. Nothing much to say, but i love reggae!!!
  7. Pat Metheny - Bright size life
  8. Vintage and trophey is near at anything, but not at musical instruments. There could be better sounding vintage jbass or p or new ones, the same for the price. I think it's all in eyes, hear and standart. All is in your heart, joy and happiness.
  9. Eric Clapton ''master band'' has always great bass parts - training standarts and a lot's of new to learn.
  10. Could be in some genres, but for me it's just to make my life more happier.
  11. HA, ha - Jaco at nr.8 - that RS is absolutely crazy !!!!
  12. That RS 50 list doeasn't prove anything, because it was made by 1 people. Gary Willis will always be my "personal" #1 bassist as many more.
  13. That is why there is no "best" world bass player. I like Gary Willis better than Tony Levin.
  14. Well, then don't write that Gary Willis is just a ramp fanatic.
  15. That's imposible, because i don't have my own radio station.
  16. Right, but Entwistle is not him. Do You even know what is ''Tribal tech''?
  17. Gary Willis put his mind and hand in to ramps for other players for easier and more stable playing. His ability to play so unique could be made with or without ramps, but let's not continue this stinky slime. I already understood that all you know about Gary Willis is one youtube video, where he shows how to properly set up ramp on his gwb1005. Dream on !
  18. I can only say, that i learned it from it it's original recording where fretless bass did a lot of simple but beautiful solos.
  19. Explain that unique way. Gary Willis also plays the bass in his own superb way.
  20. sorry, not possible to listen at the version now - i am at the work where my desktop can't speak.
  21. Name at least one reason for that !!!
  22. There was a situation, when i joined a very popular band here in Latvia, who didn't exist allready a few years ago and the vocal was different, but the other band members where the same. We played some rehearsals and all was ok. Then we came to make a cover for EC-tears in heaven. I allready knew this song and perfectly knew the bass small solo lines in this song. When we tried it, the drummer went crazy and told me to play easy small low parts instead. I said him that, without these solo bass lines the song will loose it's uniqeness. He started to told me about the way EC played this song Phil Collins. I insisted that the song must be played in it's original way, but he just couldn't do that. And finally it all ended at this point. They told me that they don't want to play with me anymore. Was i wrong???
  23. I think there is no nr. one bassit existing. If You will make a top 100 of them - everybody has it's own unique technique and style. Let's say who is better - Gary willis or Marcus Miller - impossible. Their music differs so much and all of my respect to each of them.
