    I think it would be normal for Fender to make a 6 string jazz bass. Yes, it will look bigger, but those who like jazz bass design and want standart 6 string, would be happy.

    There are quite a lot of techniques around there. Try them all and choose witch is best for You. And no one is wrong, it just differs. Even if You invest something extremly new for Yourself.
