Yes You are right - not all rockstars are pro level musicians, but there are a lot of them who are the biggest pros also.

How can you match a pro builder with a pro musician !! And yes - they are selling their time, because when they become pro, they don't need to think about genres which they will play tomorow and after tomorow. They do it, because they like to play and people who likes to hear them a lot, pays them what they deserve.

A long time ago i left an alternative rock band. where i spen about half year, but had no stress, because i didn't really liked the music and vocal was singing only in russian. In my country it's quite bad for me.

Pink Floyd and Queen were all professionals, when they start getting good money.

OK, maybe in bigger countries it works out more often, but not in here where i live.

At first You must be so professional that every wants to hear You playing everywhere and that is not so easy that it sounds. So if can play covers and some original songs, You will never call yourself doing it as a full time job. Also money, who will want to pay a good money to middle class musician.

Ecactly. In reality - the finish was Jaco tribute sunburst, that i hate. I removed it with a knife and refinished "black....red rain drop" with a flomaster. I like it.
