My main love for 'world fusion' is Goat, who are using a base of psyche-rock rather than dance music. Might have to check out those you mentioned... I'm aware of all the names but maybe never really listened to them properly. Put some suggestions here by all means.

I see that the drummer is daughter of Bauhaus drummer Kevin Haskins.

Never heard of them before. I liked the way that sounded. I like the way it looked. Not sure I can forgive the name 'Shpongle' though !

The Band stared out as backing band for Ronnie Hawkins, then Bob Dylan. They did OK for themselves In fact, they must be the ultimate example..... they are actually just called "The Band" after all!

I saw them shortly before the current tour (they were doing some re-scheduled covid dates) and they were stunning, although not for everyone.

A couple of years ago, just for the hell of it, I challenged my self to write a list of 100 bass players (and what band or whatever) from my head into an excel file. For the first few minutes I was thinking faster than I could type, then after about 50 or slow began to slow down. But after a couple of hours I had the list.

There does seem to be some other issue going on.... the PC shows a high memory percentage even when just doing light tasks like browsing. A clean up might help....

Thanks. I did try that already.... it scanned my system and recommended some cards of varying sizes. What it didn't tell me was: to get to 16MB if a) need to buy a 8GB to add to the current 8MB card, or b) buy a 16GB to replace it. If I understood that I 'd be happy to go with what they suggest. (of course I'm hoping for the cheaper option!)

As per my recent thread, my new PC keeps maxing out on RAM.... even though it has double the RAM of my old PC (which never maxed out on RAM) 😕 I haven't been able to fix it any other way, so I'll follow the advice to get more RAM. Currently I have 8gb and have 3 free slots: Can I simply buy another 8GB card and push that into one of the free slots? I am confused by the online advice............. they seem to say to remove the old RAM. In which case why are their multiple slots?

This came into my mind too. Great song, and yes, better than the already-good original. Struck me as a strange choice of cover.... original fairly recent and in the same genre as the Pixies. People normally jump back in time or across genres for covers. They didn't attempt to significantly re-imagine it or anything either, but still worked. Hadn't seen the video before..... very good! Quick Wikipedia search shows that Black Francis only agreed to make a video if it was shot in one take of a live performance/mime by the band. The director had the idea to set up 12 cameras focus on top/middle/bottom of the 4 members, cut into the 4*3 grid in the video.
