  1. I notice that the tour posters say it is an, ahem, joint tour:
  2. I'm not a Rush fan. Thought this was OK. Kudos to him for not re-hashing his previous work, and not trying to appeal to his legacy fanbase.
  3. Will be as a four-piece I presume? I get a lot of feeds of them, but just the two sisters. Pretty good stuff though!
  4. Just cross-posting this here in case anyone missed it in the other thread. This is the Floyd era for me.
  5. Good stuff. Reminded me a bit of one of my favourite bands - Goat (from Sweden):
  6. It's difficult to tell, but my best interpretation is that is some contraction of "I expect her" (e.g "Spect'er")... " I expect her mum and daddy know a decent boy like me"
  7. Listening to a couple of recently-purchased albums by Ukrainian folk band DakhaBrakha ("Alambari" and the more down-beat "The Road") I saw them a couple of years ago (one of my best ever gigs) but never got round to getting any recordings. But with the situation in Ukraine it seemed like a good time to remedy that.
  8. I'm still waiting to see the Woodentops. Had tickets pre-covid and got moved a couple of times due to Covid. The date finally came a couple of weeks ago.... turned up to the gig to find it had been cancelled at the last minute due to a local power outage. I also failed to see them at the time the debut album was out....... got to about 5 people from the front of the queue in London when they said "Full up" 😞 .
  9. Bass player in hip-hop cover band...... interesting. What would you say were the top half-dozen or so tracks you did?
  10. From one extreme to the other!
  11. "Always tone seeking or happy"... they are not mutually exclusive, some people are happy when tone chasing. Not me though.... find something workable and stick with it.
  12. I think we tend to underestimate what a good career move dying young is.
  13. I remember in years gone by that when countering resistance to a new music technology (e.g drum machines, samplers) people would say 'if Hendrix were alive today, he'd be using this stuff'. I don't think so..... like most innovative artists he'd had his period of creativity already and would be doing pretty safe stuff by then. Probably, there may be exceptions. They maybe meant 'if Hendrix was starting out today he'd be using that stuff' then they might be right.
  14. The Saints....... RIP Chris Bailey.
  15. Out of your cold dead hands, eh?
  16. For some of us of a certain age, the word dissertation will remind us of this guy: (Disclaimer: he doesn’t say it in this clip)
  17. Yeah, it’s a learning experience! Feel free to share your paper here afterwards.
  18. Me too. Questionnaires are not so straightforward to devise. But I read your advise too late 😞 and picked option "no - I rely on other online forums too"
  19. I'm not so sure about that....it may seem that way from my (and your?) age perspective, but it's probably not true, and there was lots of formulaic stuff in previous eras.
  20. Finally got the nail done.......... acrylic (I think) £3 from local nail bar working ok so far, but not done many minutes of playing yet.
  21. BBC Four tonight 10.40pm.... highlights from 6music festival
  22. Presented by Paul Holly(tone)wood?
  23. Samsung? Probably on that there bloody foreign time 😉
  24. Last minute ticket purchase.... Folly Group tonight:
  25. Not getting a good tone at the moment. Ken Barlow wearing a beige cardigan drinking a cup of Horlicks.
