I love this version of 'pack up' and was wondering if the guy on the double bass is a fellow BC'er? Very good player IMO and gorgeous tone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoyGsV7RQaU

Hiya folks. Now this is probably going to be a ridiculous question but hey, what the hell!!! I've got a lovely 4 string Jazz bodied custom built thingy, which I dearly love. However, I have ridiculous 5 string GAS at the moment, and if I'm honest, have had for the last 20 years. My Jazz copy is a 4 string but I was wondering if I can use the same body to create a 5. Obviously I know there'd be a bit of chopping for pickups, neck etc, but is a 5 string jazz body majorly different in size to a 4 string one and if not, has anyone done the same thing? Please feel free to put me in my place

Hey guys, Gigged the flat wounds last night and they've just blown me away!!! Amazing depth with a beautifully creamy, clean tone (love the 'click' too). They cut through the mix wonderfully, even with a drummer who built 3 sheds last night!!! Like others, I wish I'd put them on the P bass years ago, but it does seem at long last I have the live sound I've been after for years. Anyone currently thinking about giving flats a go, please, please do it...you won't be disappointed. Thanks once again to all who helped the decision.....I'm not disappointed
