1. I've gone for the GB Contour 500 1x15 + GB ext cab, as at those prices it was rude not to! Taking delivery over the next couple of days and will be rehearsing with both on Friday, so I'll report back.
2. Hi folks. Does anyone know if there is a cover available for the contour 500 combo? Thanks in advance.
3. Hi all. I'm just not giving this rig the use it really deserves so makes sense to let it go. No need to introduce the amp, superb bit of kit but coupled to this cab it's incredible. Its a very quiet setup but offers a huge tonal range with the hi and low contour controls. I'm in Northumberland and I'm more than happy for anyone to come and have a cuppa and a blast. Also includes a markbass basskeeper and high quality speaker cable. Message for more info/pics. £275 ono
4. Have no fear mate, this isn't a hasty decision......I've been debating it for ages now. I'm just not doing anything with it and its taken 2 years to decide on the sale. The guitar has been unbelievable, but the time is right to move her on.
5. As always guys, perfect advice. I'll get pics etc together and get it on here. Thanks once again.
6. Hi folks, Time has come for me to part company with my beloved 73' P bass. She's been with me for 23 years and was the first proper guitar my Dad bought for me when he realised I was really serious about being a bassist. My FrankenJazz delivers absolutely everything I need in terms of thump and twang, and so to have such a wonderful bit of kit living in a case is a crying shame. What I'm after is an upgrade in backline. My Hartke HA3500A, pro series cab and Aphex bass xciter have blown my mind in recent months, but I've had my head turned by the flexibility of the likes of the GB, Aguilar and Eden heads, not to mention the various lightweight cab options available. I'm in no rush to get rid of the P, but I have decided to let it go in pursuit of backline greatness. With all that in mind, I've been looking at the various options open to me, with trade in being one of them. Has anyone got recent experience in trading something along the same lines into any of the northern guitar hangouts (I'm in northumberland)? Any I should avoid? and any you'd recommend? Are there deals to be had along the same lines as if I go in with cash? I certainly won't have any of them extracting the Michael out of me as I know what it's potentially worth in a straight sale, but I thought I'd ask the BC community for a bit of direction. Cheers
7. I'm listening to Joe Robinson - Australian wonder guitarist (and only 20 yr old!!!), and if you can imagine such a thing, he's kind of a cross between Joe Bonnamassa and Jason Mraz.......but is absolutely incredible! Gorgeous melodic jazzy rock type stuff - brilliant! Awesome band he has to (some brilliant bass playing), defo worth a listen folks Drew.
8. Oh hell, I've wanted one of these for years but the beloved 73 P would be the only trade option. I need to consult the oracle before going any further!
9. My dad is a shadows nut, so I've grown up with all of the sounds and styles they've adopted through the decades.I can't be sure there isn't any miming going on in that clip, but believe me, they sound as tight as that when they are live - incredible group of muso's (individually as well as in the shads). Oh, and thats Mark 'Griff' Griffiths......an amazing bassist, and a rather impressive jazz guitarist too. I think it may be a Sue Ryder bass, as I'm sure he had something to do with the stall that was set up at the northern shads convention a few years ago.
10. Hi again, Sorry mate, my pal has managed to get sorted. Good luck with the sale.
11. Hi, might have an interested party in the remaining cabs. I'll call him tonight and get back to you asap. Where are you located mate? Thx.
12. Great stuff mate, let me have a chat with the boss of me and I'll get back to you tonight.
13. Hi, other than it being a rackmount model, do you know if there are any differences between the Aphex you have and the Bass Xciter? Cheers.
14.
God the playing in that video is abysmal - reminds me of me aged 17.... Lovely bass though.
Holy Nora.....I had no idea that 'Marcus Wooten McStuHamm' was a member on here....nice to see him offering such an overwhelming bit of support for one of our fellow BC'ers Gorgeous bass mate, wish I could manage to twist the wifes arm on this one, but it ain't gonna happen, so very best of luck with the sale.....oh, and nice playing
