  1. Some people here on BC also like the new "Modern Vintage" basses: Bass Direct is the UK distributor for MV. If possible, I would go there for a daytrip and check out the MV and compare it to the other P and PJ basses they have in stock (e.g., Sandberg, Maruszczyk etc.). They also always have several nice second hand basses in stock too. For example, they currently have a nice MIJ Fender P in CAR finish. Very tempting indeed: Fender Precision Made in Japan Candy Apple Red : For sale, UK, EU, USA Germany, UK, On offer Second Hand Bass Guitar Stock :: , Warwick, Leo Fender, London, Manchester, Birmingham, (bassdirect.co.uk) They also have a used MIJ in black (but with rosewood fingerboard): Fender Precision Made in Japan 1989 Gloss Black , four string bass: For sale, UK, EU, USA Germany, UK, On offer Second Hand Bass Guitar Stock :: , Warwick, Leo Fender, London, Manchester, Birmingham, USA (bassdirect.co.uk)
  2. Yes, I like them too. You may want to check out this documentary that focuses on their first Europe tour, including them playing at the Wacken festival:
  3. Sorry, I was just teasing you with your own thread πŸ˜‰ Clearly did not work. Judas Priest's Rocka Rolla: Heavy Metal or Hard Rock?
  4. Wow. This looks very nice indeed. Good timing for any Metallica fan (40th anniversary coming up later this year). Looking at the bass, "it's like, how much more black could this be? and the answer is none. None more black." 😎 GLWTS πŸ‘
  5. Great bass with a neck to die for. The pickup also has some serious oomph. Until recently, I had the Cutlass in the sonic/baby/diamond blue finish. I only sold it to finance yet another custom Spector bass. GLWTS πŸ‘
  6. Speaking of badgers, what a great opportunity to smuggle in a video by one of my fav bands πŸ˜‰
  7. ... and I was waiting for the moment the badger starts talking in the car and you realise that you really should not have eaten these funny looking mushrooms you had found earlier in the forest πŸ˜‰
  8. Nice, but is it really metal? Sounds more like hard rock to me πŸ˜‰ Which language is it?
  9. @Woodinblack, I just mentioned it over at the other thread that focuses on Sarah Brand, that this is definitely an experiment. As you mentioned her here first, you are either Sarah Brand yourself or you help her with the experiment. Very clever way to create content for Sarah's MSc dissertation. BTW, the research method she is using is called netnography: Netnography, an online research method originating in ethnography, is understanding social interaction in contemporary digital communications contexts. Netnography is a specific set of research practices related to data collection, analysis, research ethics, and representation, rooted in participant observation. In netnography, a significant amount of the data originates in and manifests through the digital traces of naturally occurring public conversations recorded by contemporary communications networks. Netnography uses these conversations as data. Netnography - Wikipedia
  10. It definitely IS an experiment and I think that @Cat Burrito, who started this thread, either is Sarah Brand or helps her with the experiment. 11. The Voodooo Kungfu bloke also looks pretty metal. I am sure that is real blood. Not sure whose blood, but hey, METAL!!! 😎
  12. Agree and it is obviously not his fault that these current Top 10 lists are what they are.
  13. Thanks, this was pretty good. I especially like how several bands incorporated traditional Chinese folk music. I also liked that the first and last band featured Spector basses πŸ™‚ All in all, much more creativity here than in the following "Top 10 Metal Songs" video:
  14. Well, when was the last time that stopped us from buying one? πŸ˜‰
  15. Maybe she is currently taking some singing lessons and will then conduct the second experiment as suggested by you. Multi-study designs are de rigueur πŸ™‚
  16. We need MORE badges. The badge for "Collaborator" looks exactly like the one for "Community Regular". How does that motivate me to make it to the next level? Not cool ☹️
  17. They also released this one: https://shop.music-man.com/ernie-ball-music-man-bongo-5-hh-crescendo.html
  18. Alright, checked EBMM's Vault today and found the Kingpin. Well, it is not bling in the sense of a sparkle finish but still too bling for me: https://shop.music-man.com/ernie-ball-music-man-stingray-special-hh-kingpin.html
  19. Well, reading your very interesting "Brian May To Sue Basschat" post, I now understand why you list "My own little world" as your location πŸ˜‰
  20. Good stuff. I hope you are right and we all end up getting cited in her MSc dissertation. Although, for ethical reasons, she should ask us for permission beforehand.
  21. BTW, my previous post "promoted" be to "Collaborator". I don't know, is it just me, but somehow the word has some negative connotations.
  22. Well deserved, @Dood as you have always been my hero πŸ˜‰
  23. Nope, this is actually a nice song from a great singer. Wanted to show that Sarah Brand, even with the help of autotune, is nowhere near the level of a singer like Hannah Reid. I chose the live version of the song to show that she can really sing and does not need any tech help. So, it's the opposite of a hilariously bad song. Maybe did not make it clear enough.
  24. Admittedly much butter but still far, far away from someone who can sing properly (without needing autotune). Someone like her:
