  1. I know, I know but I have a loooong wishlist and GAS is a dangerous and costly disease 😉 Moreover, there is only so much space in our "living" room and I have already been shown the yellow card by my best half.
  2. Yes, that would be great and cheaper than going through UK distributors and retailers!
  3. Yes, the 77 is great. Killer, earth-shattering sound with a super fast neck (so much nicer than the rather chunky Euro necks, at least in my opinion). It was one of my favs. Why "was"? Well, I recently got a black gloss Forte with a thin neck that just looks and sounds like early AIC and Queensryche. So, sadly the 77 and another Forte will have to go soon (wink wink ;- )
  4. Over at TB, Scott Ball wrote in late April: "I think we have two basses next drop that bling... Kingpin - Stingray 4 and Crescendo - Bongo 5." Someone then asked when these would be shown and Scott answered: "July. Stingray 4 HH Kingpin is "Black". Crescendo Bongo 5 HH is "White"
  5. Fully agree, way too much bling for my taste. Really hope the new HH "Kingpin" that they will launch in July will be without bling. It will be black but please without any flakes, glitter etc.
  6. That's why I suggested a used CLF 🙂 They should be around the £1k mark. Ok, still more than a Tribute but definitely worth the extra money in my opinion.
  7. Agree, G&L are a bit the unsung heroes of the bass world.
  8. If finances allow, I would check for a used US CLF L2k. They have nice 1 5/8'' slim C necks. I used to have a Tribute L2K and the neck was a bit too big for me. The neck on the CLF I recently got is much more to my liking.
  9. BD still have one: G&L M2000 Tribute, 4 five string, Guitars, George Fullerton, Leo Fender, basses - For sale, UK, on offer, EU Bass Direct - STOCK -
  10. Thanks for that. Cool stuff. I tried it out, all the way, well except for putting in my card details 😉 Total costs for the HH model: £2671.49 Cart Subtotal (1 item): £2057.72 GBP UPS Expedited: £77.91 GBP Duties and taxes: £535.86 GBP Order Total: £2671.49 GBP Guaranteed Total Landed Cost! - No additional VAT or Duties will be applied to your order. That's more than £300 cheaper than a regular Stingray Special HH here in the UK (e.g.: £2999 for the Raspberry finish at BD) and it comes with an ebony FB and a matching headstock. So, I guess I will keep an eye on the Vault and maybe, one day, they will have a Stingray Special HH with a natural finish and black hardware (like Timmy C's Ray).
  11. Cool stuff. Congrats. BTW, I thought I'd seen it before (RW instead of maple FB though):
  12. Spector Forte 4 in gloss black
  13. Talking of the 80s, here's another of my fav prog bands in action:
  14. I get that UK prices will be higher than US prices for obvious reasons (shipping, distributor markup etc.). That's why the $ dollar price pretty much equalled the £ price (so let's say $2,399 in the US and £2,399 in the UK) even though the exchange rate is not 1:1. However, this year it is $2,399 in the US (Sweetwater) and £2,899 in the UK (Andertons) and that's what's different and what I still don't understand. It also seems to be EBMM specific as, for example, for Fender (Professional II P bass, Dark Knight finish,) it is: $1,549 in the US (Sweetwater) and £1,699 in the UK (Andertons).
  15. Fully agree. I really hope customers will not let EBMM get away with it, especially as they are charging non US based customers suddenly so much more - Price for a new Stingray Special in Raspberry Burst: $2,399 in the US (Sweetwater) and £2,899 in the UK (Andertons). Well, don't think so 😡
  16. I can imagine. That's what I like about my Spectors too. The "mega oomph" they have.
  17. Here is a link to a thread where we discussed the new colours and also had quite a heated debate about the new prices. I like some of the new finishes (esp. the HH in raspberry burst. I would have bought one for the old price but then went for a used G&L L2k in CAR instead) but think that the new prices are way too high: New EBMM Stingray Special Colours and Prices - Bass Guitars - Basschat
  18. Wow. That looks great and yes, this is the proof that nothing is impossible. Congrats!
  19. Checked out Voyager. Like it. Like it a lot. I don't know if it is just me but I sense some 80s vibes, at least in the songs I checked out. Maybe it is just me being an 80s kid. Speaking of the 80s, here is a band that is more 80s than the 80s were 😁 Not sure what their label mates on Nuclear Blast think of them though 😎
  20. Cheers, mate. "Normal" Fortes come with matte finishes and the Aguilar OBP-2 or Darkglass TC preamp. However, upgrades such as the Haz 9V or 18V and nowadays gloss finishes are possible (BD recently had a Forte 5 in gloss plum crazy). I think even crown inlays are doable but I quite like the "naked" no-frills look. However, fancy wood tops are still a no-no for the Forte.
  21. Speaking of addiction, in case you haven't seen my NBD threat, here is my new Forte 4 (EMG PJx, Haz 9V, alder wings, gloss black finish (still quite unusual for the Forte model) and super light). This beast has some serious oomph and infinite sustain. You hit a string and it literally rings forever. Cool stuff. What's best? Early AIC and Queensryche vibes come for free 😎
  22. Say hello to your new addiction 😉
  23. Speaking of prog, in case you don't know them yet, then check out Riverside. I really like them. Quite bass driven too (singer is also the bass player) and fun to play!
  24. Yes, Dead Letter Circus are pretty good too. Oz has so many amazing (prog) bands, maybe I should move there?
