Spector fans! Here is a cool video for you to watch. Ish guitar's Jesse Wilson visited the new Spector custom shop facilities. Very interesting. Check it out!
-
Welcome back to the Spector family! As you know, you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave 😉
-
They used to say "never meet your heroes". I guess we can now add "never see your heroes" as well.
-
Agree, all cool dudes. However, looks like I have to be the guy who introduces you to the coolest dude of all them all 😎

Peter Hook Interview/Gear Guide/Signature Bass
Eldon Tyrell replied to madshadows's topic in General Discussion
Looks like I should have bought one. Could have made a nice little profit 🤪 -
Is now good time to be buying 'quality' musical instruments
Eldon Tyrell replied to TJ1's topic in General Discussion
I guess it depends on what you are selling/buying. For example, a Yamaha Peter Hook Signature Bass that cost around £1k new just sold on ebay for more than double. BTW, it is a "standard" one, i.e. not one of the hand signed ones that PMT sold. -
I don't think I am smart enough to understand that 🤪

Which bands are guaranteed to buy from?

Good idea. I should contact my bank immediately. I am sure my better half will appreciate it 😉

Agree 🙂

That sounds very familiar indeed. Looks like I am not the only one. 🙂 Due to the pandemic, I have not been there since Jan 2020. However, that has not stopped me from buying 5 basses since then "thanks" to their website. Maybe I should stop checking it. Maybe that helps.

Trojan on BD's website? Well, my HitmanPro does not show that. TBH, the only danger coming from BD's website is that it is costly to visit (i.e., spending money on new basses) 😉
-
Exactly. They have a particular type of humour that is clearly not for everyone but it also not meant to be for everyone 😎 I like Joe Dart and I think that Vulfpeck are an interesting band and show what can be achieved in the new social media and online music streaming times. Selling out Madison Square Garden without having a record deal definitely deserves some serious respect.

That's what I thought. For £2343.11, you can get it shipped directly from EBMM, including shipping costs and all taxes. https://shop.music-man.com/ernie-ball-music-man-joe-dart-bass-velvet-natural.html

This one: Still trying to find one!

Agree but the new Forte just blew both the 77 and the Forte away 😎 I still have the Vintage Tint Ash Forte and the Mike Starr Euro. Both are in cases though. My only remaining basses "in the wild" are these three:

No new bass from BD, I am afraid, only clearing our "living"room to make my wife happy. Although, I am still looking for a Stingray Classic, natural finish, maple FB 😉
-
No, only if you had said "I'd rather have a Marathon" 😉

Forgotten Albums which future generations will appreciate.
Eldon Tyrell replied to TheGreek's topic in General Discussion
My concern is that future generations probably won't know what an album is in the first place -
Well, I am usually brave, but I am not that brave 😉
-
Maybe this change of strategy has something to do with Sterling's son Brian being the CEO of EBMM now? Could be.

I'll keep an eye on the Stingray Special HH Kingpin. Hope it will be available via the Vault and also hope that "drop that bling..Kingpin" means that it won't be a blingy bass. Well, we'll know in July.

Yes, it sounded odd but that's why I found on this forum: "Plank" von Fritz Rössel auf der Messe gehört | Musiker-Board Google translate gave me this: It's called "Plank" and it looks a bit like it - like a wooden plank. And that is probably quite intentional. He looks totally slimmed down. One-piece body, one-piece neck (screwed), no height aperture, no volume potentiometer. No pickup. ? Not a pickup in the usual sense. What looks like a soap bar pickup in bridge position is actually a microphone, as Fritz says.

I like Joe Dart and I like the minimalistic concept. It only makes sense to get rid of the gigantic volume knob that a lot of people (me included) did not like anyway. Some time ago, someone sold here a "Plank" bass by a German bass builder named Fritz Roessel. I remember saying that Joe Dart should buy it as the bass does not have any knobs at all. Maybe Joe is checking BC? 😉 The Plank bass could actually further inspire the next version of the Joe Dart bass: Get rid of the pickup next! What looks like a soapbar pickup in the Plank bass is actually a microphone, according to the builder. So, Joe, check it out 😎
