    C'mon. Places like BC or TB would only be half (or probably even less) the fun without these discussions. Is it important? Well, that' s a rather philosophical question. What really matters in life? Of course it is not important. But then what is? Sure, we are all only discussing first world problems here. But that's why I joined BC a year ago in the first place. To have, for at least a few minutes or hours per day, a place, a digital sanctuary that is in a galaxy, far, far away from the Covid nightmare world we are in and affected by to varying degrees. So, hope everyone is having a good time and take it easy 🤩

    Cool stuff. Welcome on board; @JohnDaBass. My first Spector bass was also a Legend. I bought it almost exactly 5 years ago (July 9th 2016) from a shop called "Bass Gear" in Twyford. I don't remember the shop owner but he was really nice to me. H even made me a tea. You have to be warned though, playing Spector basses is addictive and will cost you a lot of me. You can trust me on that 😉 I don't think you have to officially join. It is not a club, just a thread. No one is handing out numbers, well, at least not to my knowledge. The guy who started the thread has not been around for almost two years, so we just carry on talking about Spector basses until he comes back and kicks us all out 😎 P.S. Thinking of it, it may be a club and the first rule is not to talk about it 😉

    Agree. The L2k has some amazing tones but old school tones are not really among those. If the budget can be stretched a bit, I would recommend the US made G&L CLF Research L1000. Leo's last take on the P bass. Passive bass with a nice neck (1 5/8" slim C) and some great tones. Currently on offer for a ridiculously low price: https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/g-amp-l-clf-l1000-bass-guitar-pharaoh-gold-firemist The L1k has three positions (parallel/split/OMG) that can get you lots of different tones. Mega old school tones can be achieved with flats like in this video (from 09:43). Ed plays the exact same model the band "The Mavericks".

    Yeah, £1800 for a Korean made Spector is a lot but prices seem to go up and up and up across the board. Ok, sorry, this is off topic but "high" prices reminded me of some great "low" prices that PMT is currently asking for G&L CLR Research basses (£1k for the L1k and £1.1k for the L2K).     Nope, I am not into 5 string basses (and the problem only seems to affect these, not the 4 string model). However, if I were you. I would not take the risk and rather see what Spector does about it. Maybe they will present a new and improved version 2.0 at the next Summer or Winter NAMM (or in between), maybe present some new finishes too.

    Yeah, I also never use the J on my PJ Spectors either. BTW, here is a recent video in which Ian explains why his new signature model, made in "Czechoslovakia", only has the P pickup.

    Great classic looking bass. The IH model also has the thinner neck specs which I prefer over the usual, rather chunky Euro necks. GLWTS 👍

    He got it back in 2017. They are both listed on Spector's website: Euro 4LT Rudy Sarzo (red, Fishman) and Euro 4LX Rudy Sarzo (black, Sims). BD also has a limited edition 4LX in trans blue in stock.

    This looks great. I think the black pickguard looks so much better than the white one. I recently bought a bass from Dan and the whole process was fab. I was especially impressed by the super packaging. Two boxes (!?!) and tons of bubble wrap. That's how retailers should ship their gear. Very impressive. So, buy with confidence, you are in safe hands 🙂 GLWTS 👍

    I can confirm that the MIJ Fender Boxer is a fantastic bass. Great quality, great looks and great sounds. I only sold mine as I am not a Jazz neck guy. I always think I will eventually get used to it but that somehow never seems to happen :-(
