  1. Just bought some TI flats from Matt. Great comms, reasonable price and postage. Swiftly despatched. Recommend without reserve.
  2. NS Design Wav 4 radius in immaculate condition. There really isn’t a mark on it as far as I can see. I’m the second owner and have never gigged it. Only played at home (smoke and pet free). Great headless bass with a piezo bridge, very clever string clamp mechanism so you can use any strings you want and curved body to accommodate that middle aged spread Full disclosure, one of the zips on the gig bag is a bit dodgy. If you go past a certain point it will open but you can avoid it by pulling the other zip a bit further. I took this as a part ex a while ago, but with the recent acquisition of a squier P this is the one bass too many. All the wall hangers are full so this sits untidily on the floor. In terms of trades I don’t really want any more basses at the mo (really?!?) but always worth a punt if you have something interesting or a nice markbass 10x4 cab for example. collection preferred but will pack for your courier at your cost and risk.
  3. Nice one! Unusually low prices for the cash convertor type businesses. One went on eBay last night for £260. We both got a bargain!
  4. So whilst my beloved was getting her eyes tested yesterday I went for a wander round town and found this hanging up in the local cash converters for the princely sum of £180. Would have been rude not to! Squier 60s classic vibe. Now I know why people bang on about these. Great instrument and finally have a P bass. Just need to find some low tension flats now.
  5. I make you right! One of my shazaam discoveries and bought the album. What a musician.
  6. Agree 100%. I’ve been converted to these after buying a medium scale ACG from a member here which had them fitted. Really make a difference to your tone in a good way. Just put a set on my jazz which I’ve always felt a bit ‘meh’ about and it has been transformed.
  7. Or get the venue to do it for you!
  8. Thanks all! Sounds like it’s a big vote for the tc.
  9. Forgive me if this has been asked before (I did a search but couldn't find anything recent), but anyone use a clip on tuner that they would recommend - caveat it must be big and bright! Thanks
  10. As long as you still have the bass then all is good and worst case you have £30 for your trouble.
  11. Funk Shed playing around 6 pm today at Stowfiesta in Stowmarket, Suffolk https://www.facebook.com/events/713119653528662. Lots of other bands too
  12. Just swapped my Lakland for Rich's NS Design Wav 4 Radius. What a gent! Lovely bass in great condition and great comms throughout. Note to self though. Check how many car parks there are in one street next time!
  13. Thanks for the support. I’m a bit surprised too. Not even sure you could buy a new one in the uk now. Might be the weight. Not desperate though so happy to leave it out there. Offers and trades welcome.
  14. Have a hankering for a p-bass as I’ve not owned a ‘real’ one or maybe a 500w + rated 4x10 cab, but I’ll consider anything really. The Lakland just doesn’t get played.
  15. 4.4 kg on the bathroom scales for those who have asked.
  16. NOW £675. Definitely interested in trades so try me. A Fantastic as new condition Lakland 55-01 Bass in Cream finish, the build quality is excellent ! and the Bartolini Set up sounds great, coupled with the graphite reinforced neck and Pleck'd fretwork this bass plays superbly and is very stable. Strung with a newish set of Rotosounds (lightish gauge), it really is in amazing condition. Ive looked all over it and all I can find are some light scratches at the top of the headstock (pictured). Another failed 5 string experiment for me. I bought this to replace a 5 string Warwick corvette as I was convinced the wider neck would stop my fingers getting tangled, and it did to an extent, but the truth is, I don't play it because I'm too much of a 4 string player to change my ways now. I’ll not post as I've nothing to pack it in - however I'd be happy to drive within an hour. I might be open to trades, I've a hankering for a P with flats for example (4 string of course) but won't be adding any cash to a deal. The Skyline Series basses are made in Indonesia and then shipped to Laklands facility in Chicago for the Pleck setup and final inspection so they really are first class instruments! From the Lakland Website : SKYLINE SERIES 55-01 Versatility with high-end features! The 55-01 utilizes the classic Lakland body shape with a pair of Bartolini MK-1 split-coil soap bar pickups and an MK-1 onboard, 3-band buffered, active preamp. You can dial in an amazing variety of tones, from modern slap, to warm fingerstyle to aggressive picked tones. The 35″ scale neck is fast and smooth providing the killer B sound Lakland 5’s are famous for.
  17. Ah but you forget the ‘level 42’ connection. That the bass comes in a box that was sent to someone with the same name as the brother of the bass player out of level 42! There’s a grand or so right there!
  18. Funk Shed. TBH we play more soul than funk, but not when we started. The ‘shed’ bit was a reference to drummers I think..something about sounding like they’re building a shed. It was a long time ago and I was very, very drunk.
  19. Taking a slightly different approach, some multi-fx's and preamp pedals will act as digital interfaces (plus some will have a headphone out) so if he wanted to get a more versatile and interesting setup without getting involved with DAW software, that could be an option. You can probably pick a reasonable multi-fx second hand for the price of the Scarlett interface.
  20. I have an 87 that I think is the transitional model. Same colour as this, bullet truss rod, but bridge with built in foam mute system, chrome battery cover and 4 bolt neck plate.
  21. Played here last year. Great gig, so looking forward to this one
  22. I bought a beautiful American pro jazz two or three years ago but have never really bonded with it. Never tried a p bass though and often wonder whether I should. Think the issue with the jazz is ergonomics and narrower string spacing.
