Sam is a great person to deal with. Hassle free, easy going and does what he says he's going to do. Highly recommended.

Bought a Steinberg interface from Nick. Great deal and a nice guy to deal with. Well packed and very prompt delivery. Highly recommended.

Well, I didn't win it. I put in a max of £21 and it apparently went for £46 so I can only assume that a couple of you drove up to, or down to Norfolk yesterday, scuppered my plans. and are at this moment, burning it. Shame, I feel that we've all lost out in a way🤣

Yes, great isn't it. I'll find out later if I've won it at auction😂

Hohner B2A V string, Walnut version. NOW SOLD

Okay, where to start? These were made for the year 2000 so, I'm guessing, in 1999. It's a Washburn Millennium EA2000 electro acoustic with an incredibly shallow and fast neck for an acoustic. A bit 335 ish in feel. Ultra slim body which, although it doesn't project like a jumbo, has a really nice full sound which is even better when plugged in. Lovely Venetian cutaway gives great upper access. Has one (not my fault) ding on it, pictured. Apart from that, lovely condition for 22 years old. These were apparently quite expensive when new (nearly four figures in $) so I reckon this is a fair price for something you don't see every day and is eminently useable. Comes with a battered, but very "Crossroads" looking and useable shaped hard case. Remarkably easy to play, especially if you're used to playing mainly electrics. Near Swaffham. Don't want to post this but open to suggestions about a meet somewhere.

A few pedals to clear out that I'll probably not use again. Not all bass related so tell your skinny stringer mates. Pictures probably not in order but you can work it out. Zoom A2 Acoustic guitar effects. Actually very clean, no box or PSU but will work with batteries if you don't have one. Tons of effects, settings, tuner etc. I'm sure you all know what it does. £20 Zoom B2 Bass effects unit. Exactly the same writing as above, but much more bassy. £20 Vox Satchurator Joe Satriani signature overdrive and distortion pedal. In box, with instructions, very nice condition. Two stages as above. First stage for sounding like Joe, hit the second button to actually look like him too. Now £30 As nothing is big, so no problem posting, no idea of costs will not be marked up and you can choose who does it.

Passing on this lovely little Hohner headless 5 string in the Walnut finish as I'm not likely to be gigging again and it'll just sit there. Great fun to play, sounds lovely. Passive / active switch, original Hohner Pro hardcase. Spare set of double ball end strings too. Think the string spacing is 17mm on these. Steinberger tuners work fine and holds tuning incredibly well. Don't fancy posting so ideally, collection near Swaffham, Norfolk or the dodgy car park meet within 10 miles. No offers pricewise on this but may be up for a straight trade on a Rolex Submariner🤣 NOW SOLD

Okay, your input has helped me make up my mind. I'm bidding up to £20🤣

That's an auction lot number.

I'm guessing it's home-made but who knows? I just find it intriguing.

Michael William Connolly or Pete Riley. Both in Essex though. You'll find them both on Face book.

Cover Versions You Knew Long Before the Original
leschirons replied to Mykesbass's topic in General Discussion
Not that I'm a fan of hers but I imagine not too many people realised Dylan had written one of Adele's biggest hits when it stormed the charts. -
Very underrated player. Fair songwriter too he was. Big loss.

Cover Versions You Knew Long Before the Original
leschirons replied to Mykesbass's topic in General Discussion
Spooky, Classics lV , Dusty Springfield, Atlanta rhythm section but original was Mike Shapiro as an instrumental. Never knew. -
Exactly this. Being the weakest is the best reason and opportunity to improve. Being the best is also great, but only for about 10 minutes when the frustration sets in.

You know that bit in Lord of the rings where the Elves, Bilbo and a few others load themselves onto some sort of Viking barge and sail off to somewhere, citing that now, is the time of men and it's all over for magical beings? Well that's how it feels to me. I started out, in the unreliable group van, playing to 6 people in the back room of a grubby London pub, and then having a row to get your £15 for the gig because the idiot landlord was too tight to put a 30 bob ad in Melody Maker. No-one has to do that nowadays and all the work, the effort and the s h i t gigs back then only strengthened our resolve to carry on and make it, whether you made it or not. At nearly 70, I'm tired and worn out, with no real interest in playing but, will no doubt finish my days playing 4 village fete charity gigs a year with three other old lags who did the same things I did 50 years ago. Not so much the music, but the way things are done has changed beyond recognition. We (bands) are now merely passengers, on a sinking ship.

As a natural progression from the original thread, what's your preference of wood for lolly sticks? Poplar seems to have a nice sturdy yet flexible quality whilst teasing the consumer with a feint earthy background taste. But, the dependable Baltic birch gets my vote. A totally different density leaves one with a confidence that your stick won't result in your Magnum hitting the deck. Of course, many still revere the legendary 64 Mivvi stick ( the go to lolly of choice for legends such as Anthony Newley and Screaming Lord Sutch ) To find one in original condition....one can only dream.

Okay, I've just done my own test. Same bass. Same amp. Same flat settings. Finger style in same position over pickup. Only variable, three glasses of Fitou in between. It does actually make a difference to the perceived tone. Tomorrow evening, I will repeat, but with a Montrachet and see what transpires.
