  1. Don't think I'm bringing anything new to the party but this is what I do for one of our songs: deluxe octave into mojomojo (light-medium gain) into microsynth (filter trigger off) into ms60b with a basic patch using compression and detune. Superego is fun in this but gets pretty wild. Can also engage the drive channel on the digbeth. That's great if the filter is on as it really highlights the frequency swoop. Muff is there as well for muffiness but it kinda overloads everything else. Still a fun noise though 😁
  2. This is awesome, I keep desperately wanting to be able to make my bass into a synth. Unfortunately I play in a rock band with rather limited scope for techno bass textures. Doesn't stop me trying though 😂😂
  3. I have the preamp as well and it's pretty good. Really flexible eq and switchable drive is something I have really appreciated (also having drive at the end of my chain has proven to be very useful). One thing I thought would be really useful but I never use is the tilt. I've played around with it but not found the real benefit yet. Everyone uses different things though so I'm sure someone gets full use out of it but if that's the only reason you would go for this you may not be fully satisfied. I would also say it is one of the cheapest DIs out right now considering its feature set.
  4. Soooo.....has he won then? Is that this thread finished? 🤣
  5. I guess it depends what you need specifically for the tracks you are wanting to spice up. Part of the problem for me regarding multi effects is firstly I MUCH prefer having individual knobs to visualise what I want to do. Totally get the benefits of presets etc but my brain does not like it at all. Secondly there is a lot fo stuff in multis that you probably do t need or want at this stage. For me this makes a lot of multi effects too overwhelming (I do keep flirting with the idea however). A good compromise for me is the zoom ms50b. It is a fully fledged multi effect but has the footprint of a single pedal. I have access to everything it offers but it's not the main player for me. It also is soooo fiddly to work with that I don't think it will bey long term option but I'm.tryong to make it work for now
  6. I'm about 5'7". Not sure exactly but typically the shortest guy in whatever group I find myself in. I've never felt the bass visually too big but definitely felt like it was a physical task. I use to compare it to taming an animal. At time it was like the notes were bouncing out your fingers, other times it was like walking through treacle. Having went away and came back with a fresh mindset I don't feel like it is physically intimidating now, bit still definitely challenging. Very curious about short scales but for now still sticking with my jazz. Also pro tip, professional photographers j is how to make you look good, stick with them 😂😂

  8. Don't know if you have seen but walrus audio have just released a preamp, the badwater. Clean/drive, optical compressor, 4 band eq and DI.
  9. I have been watching religiously since 2006, the yea wer Lordi won. I love it, not in an ironic way, it's just a lot of fun. For those of you who are sceptical I recommend drinking heavily. It's how I got into it in the first place accidentally 🤣. In all seriousness there have been some cool songs over the years, along with some garbage. The UK songs, in my opinion are rarely interesting and for the most part haven't deserved to win. Don't think they deserve nil points but hey ho. However the greatest tragedy was that the 2020 lineup was phenomenal and never got to perform. I think they were all busy or something? Not heard this year's um entry....or any other actually other than the Latvian entry so looking forward to see what's on offer!
  10. Can I ask is there anything else going on there, signal wise? Because that sounds phenomenal. Aside from your superb playing of course!
  11. Glad to hear it sounds good, there's very little online for this pedal with a bass. Also good to hear they, albeit begrudgingly, ship internationally. Your spot on with the OCD comparison, it's a modified version of that from what I have read
  12. How is the crook? I've been hearing it on the JHS show and it sounds amazing on there!
  13. Laney digbeth has an effects loop, also 4 band eq alongside clean, tube (distortion) and mixed output. However I gigged for years with a sansamp at the end of my chain. It basically acted as my amp sound. Never bothered too much with effects loops etc, it depends on the effect types you use and the sound you wanna get but even on guitar I just ran everything into the front of the amp. Each to their own of course but check out the digbeth!
  14. I have collectively owned two basses my entire life. One was a vintage (the brand) jazz bass. Was my first bass and I gave that to a friend as soon as I got my fender mim jazz. That was about 18 years ago. I have four guitars but they all predate the jazz. Two (epi acoustic and epi SG) are still in my parent's loft. The other two (Gibson SG and Yamaha Les Paul type thingy) are hung up in a cupboard in my bedroom. I definitely would like at least one other bass (my current one has been in a PJ setup for most of its life with a recent return to traditional jazz pickups). I just don't have the money or the space to do so. I'm in a position now that I'm not gonna get anything else until my heart tells me to go ahead with it. I'm reasonably sure I will get hold of a p bass again, bit I also want a short scale. And I love Thunderbirds. Never played one, I just love them. At the same time I feel like I wouldn't know what to do with two or more basses. I would probably just forcibly use one for a period of time then move onto another one. In conclusion I don't know what I want. All I know is I have one, I love it but I know there is more out there 🤣.
  15. Also recommend the Laney digbeth. Clean and drive no problems along with a 4 band eq. The zoom ms60b also great and does all the bells and whistles you would associate with a multi, including tuner. Why not both! 🤣 Sansamp also obviously great but you could get both the previous pedals for the price of a sansamp....still cheaper than a stomp though.
  16. This may he completely unrelated but I have both an epi and Gibson SG (6 string) and the neckdive is much worse on the epiphone. I think it's because the body is much thinner and therefore lighter but I don't have much of an issue with the Gibson. Obviously the basses may be different and all that but that's my experience
  17. Im really enjoying it. Admittedly not used it massively since I got it a few months ago as I dont plug in to practice normally. I used a SANSAMP V1 bass driver before and was getting a bit tired of the mid scoop. From the moment I plugged in at my first practice with the digbeth both me and the guitarist noted how much 'fuller' sounding I was sounding. The tube pathway is nice as well, useable both at low and high gain. Eq works well. I suppose my only dissappointment with it thus far is the tilt control. It may become useful in certain scenarios but so far it is just another knob to accidentally knock and wonder why you sound crap. Oh thats another thing the dials are not the easiest to read in low light but to me thats not a big deal, the eq all have centre indents and im not straying too far from centre with them.
  18. So finally finished my dialled down board. Previously using a Ruach board, beautiful wooden board, but it was just too big for me. Now on a metro 24, if I can find a smaller substitute for the microsynth I may go smaller! Signal chain is muff - superego - MXR - tu2 - mojomojo - microsynth - zoom - digbeth. Powered by a Harley Benton iso pro.....bunny for aesthetics only 🤣
  19. Oh I seen these. Personally I absolutely love the olive one but each to their own!
  20. I'm a fan. It's a great catchall as it doesn't take up a lot of space but has a little bit of everything in there. Granted it's not the most 'adjust on the fly' devices but the size makes up for that. You just need to have your presets sorted before you gig. Probably only really useful for one preset per song but it works absolutely fine for me in that regard. One thing I noticed is that it needs a really clean power supply. I use a Harley Benton isolated power supply and it made SO much noise. Got a recommendation on here for a Palmer power conditioner for about 20 quid and that sorted it right out.
  21. Yeah I got mine setup and some fretwork done in the second half of 2020 and there was a massive backlog as they had been shut for a good few months. They then had a big break-in and were recovering from that for a while so they're maybe still trying to get caught up? I dunno but when things settle down they are really helpful and the work itself was reasonably quick....and obviously well done haha.
  22. Have you tried the Russian big muff? It comes in the compact enclosure and sounds great (to my ears). I've never tried the bass muff but I've heard people say the Russian is better?
  23. It's at the back of the at Enoch's centre open air car park, beside Mr Ben's and Mono....among other establishments that I can't remember 😂
  24. Been brought up already but I've always used strung out. Always really nice service and no complaints from my end. Only found out about Jimmy Egypt the past few years but I've heard great things from them as well
  25. There's a company in Scotland called Gojira effects. They do a bunch of stuff, it seems to be made to order though. Several different fuzzes etc. What's really cool is that you can have your own design screen printed onto the pedal, don't think I've seen anyone else do that.
