1.
^^its usually our drummer...
Yeah it's strange- me, the bassist and jack, the drummer, are always telling the guitarrist what to do not only that but i'm always saying to him "YOU'RE SUCH AN IDIOT!!!!" We have another guitarrist aswell now but he's not exactly stalin either.
 2. ^defo was martin on bass, it said on top gear.
 3. ^ the usual approach in our band is "sod what jonny thinks" (the guitarrist)
 4.
Looks like I'm going to be busy on Limewire for a while checking these out. Should be good fun and will hopefully teach me a trick or two.. Nik
Naughty naughty, music "sharing" is theft!
 5.
HA! How bazaar! Just as soon as you put that, there's one for sale on here. Looks nice too.....and a VERY reasonable price. (My Concert CMG Custom cost me £699, and this 5-string is up for £350!) http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3026
yes and some other guy has also PMed me about it aswell, Thanks for the support guys! wow every1 on here's a lot nicer then on crappy ultimate guitar forum!
 6. very nice, just needs some good pickups and that makes one hell of a bass my friend!
 7. well anesthesia (pullling teeth) by metallica basically IS a bass solo and for whom the bell tolls has a bass solo in it, it doesn't sound like one really tho, the only reason i could tell was from whatching the rockumentary on St. Anger.
 8. i prefer this: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ydL3yDG-ci8
 9.
there's nothing like listening to the song over and over again and working it out for yourself.
Amen to that! Many people don't bother trying to develop this skill and instead just try to learn from tabs, problem is most tabs were written by equally useless people so it's completely wrong.
 10. it's easy, a lot of people do like each phrase on one string but i like to skip strings, because that way it's easier (for me) and it sounds less muddy aswell. It sounds hard but it really is piss when u get to learn it.
 11. you certainly are! All very nice basses. I always wanted a jackson but i've just been put off by the lack of any 5 string models.
 12.
Correct. Unmistakable a Stingray but with overtones of carbon fibre. Loads of sustain. Very punchy. Rarely needs adjustment. This one doesn't have the standard factory pre-amp or pick-up. They'd been changed before I bought it so a direct comparison is difficult. (BP if you read this maybe you can help me try and get the electronics back to original)
Thanks for that! now i want one of those!
 13.
I've got to admit to liking the original logo though
that was the worst bit haha well that's a really bloody nice slab u got there, all mahogany i presume? As per most explorers.
 14. i think the idea is a piano like sound. I know what u mean about the metal thing but hey i'm not complaining! (6) also http://www.musicalinstrumentmegastore.co.uk/itm03379.htm oh yes, £800. Hmm...
 15.
gregory bruce campbells a good ER player too, more slap orientaited tho.
i like john campbell better myself
I did a gig once with a 7 string guitar guy - we were tearing up funk and jazz standards like "Have You Met Miss Jones" and "Nardis", total shred style. It were great. Jennifer
yeah guitars are really quite pathetic when it comes to extended range options. i mean ibanez have only just brought out the first ever production (proper) 8 string guitar. i suppose guitarrists only really need to chug out some riff or p/c tho so they don't really need as much range. personally i play a 5 string which i suppose is technically an ERB but it's not really anything special.
 16. wow 33" scale and 26 frets, hope u don't have fat fingers!
 17.
Its a lot better than I started with.
likewise, those sgc basses are very nice, i might be getting a 5 string version some time soon.
 18. yeah i know what u mean actually, but at any rate do try to avoid harley benton stuff on ebay
 19. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HARLEY-BENTON-5W-CLA...bayphotohosting but this is definetly a scam, basically this guy bought this amp: http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_ga5.htm knowing that if he sold it on ebay some suckers would bid far more then it's actual value thinking "harley benton" was some kind of defunkt 70's brand. This isn't the first time i've seen someone buy something of thomann and flog it off on ebay for twice as much, once i did see a bass- one of these: http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbp...scale_ebass.htm a whopping £50 value being sold for £90! Excluding delivery. So if ur on ebay and don't know about thomann please don't buy anything made by harley benton!
 20.
http://z4.invisionfree.com/Double_Bass/index.php?showforum=1 I came across this in the Smith forums. Anyone who can construct their own double bass - complete with carved cedar top, has my undying respect.
not to mention their own forum about it!
 21. oh mate if you hadn't defretted that bass i would have bought it
 22.
at the moment im running tracey bmc cab full range 1000w beast with a tracey pre and poweramp set up. its will handle it fine. im looking to get an accugroove whappo grande cab, 21' speaker at 800w. that'll give me all the head room i need.
wow a 21 foot speaker that's like MASSIVE!!!
Bear in mind that although the Whappo Grande certainly has substantial output in the 40-100Hz region, it gets nowhere near achieving its claimed specs of -3dB @ 22Hz and -6dB @ 19Hz. Here's a graph of claimed response vs actual possible response: http://lowdownlowdown.com/greenboy/MusicIm...ovedWopper2.gif The 21" cone looks impressive though - and certainly ticks all the right marketing boxes... Alex
of course not all speakers behave the way a computer program wants them to now do they?
