1.
There's a Dean stylist cabbie here on a famous auction site if anyone's looking for one, ending in 5 days. Collection from Abbots Langley in Hertfordshire only though, which will probably put a lot of people off. I'm in no way affiliated with whoever's selling it. Although I do have a couple of Dean basses, and think that generally as a brand they're underrated. H&R
I've asked the seller a question ,and am awaiting reply .
2. What about a shortscale bass, like Mustang/musicmaster etc or a headless as already mentioned?
3. What about a bass pod,or similar to hook to the p a ?
4. He's probably depressed by all the bum notes he's been playing. I used to have a huge OHM amp/cab 120 watts or so. It was sooooooo loud. My cat used to sleep in the cab. Sounded great, but thank heavens for portability. Far too big to lug around the tube etc.
5. I have an aEden combo for sale, depends on where you're located
6. .....after seeing them again last night , that's all I can say really
7. I remember being a little naive , and hungry for an effects unit back in the mid 90s. (effects prior to then were more or less guitar only ) I used to be a regular reader of the 2 bass mags then. I ended up buying the Boss ME8-B, which got a better rating than the Digitech Bass Whammy. I found it fun in the bedroom ,but the instructions were a pain in the ass! I got the guitar version of the Whammy sent to me in error,so I sent it back,as I hadn't a clue how to use it. I still have the Boss unit, and may try using it with my band for a bit of fun. From what I see now, you get better /more features for less dosh(the Zoom B21.U for instance) Computers have made bass playing more fun (toneport gx etc) you get virtual pedalboards, and some interfaces let you record too! One thing I used to love about AKAI : Their cassette Decks!!
8.
But it's alot easier to just have you location on your profile. You only have to do it once, and you'll never forget or have to write it in any title
my location is on there
9.
So you'd put "Collection only from Twickenham" in the box under the title of your thread. Easy, surely? J.
yes
10. Well, on the left is where I live. When I sell something like an amp/bass over say £100.00 I prefer to meet person, they try out, like it,deal done. No whining afterwards.
11.
Like this I suppose..... Mike
I like that. is that an 8 string?
12. Playe my 1st gig in about 18 months,on friday.New line up etc. 2 bands Ripped Apart/Pier 54 . Not many people there (january/recession/no smoking?) We went down well . Seem to get on ok with the locals . We played 1st (R A ) Think they preferred us. Waiting to see if we can get in to the already full diary.
13. Sounds like you need to let rip, and rid yourself of pent up aggression. S.O.D./Slayer could help you
14.
I'm with you all the way I'm in the process of saving and flogging off , to get a yellow Status. Headed 4 string Stealth - black hardware - and all yellow . I mean everything . One piece graphite bass - spray the lot - even pick ups . Will cost a bit more (so Rob informed me a few years ago , and I got the impression that he wasn't too keen) Just thought it'll be a bit different , though after watching an old Top Gear , where they had 3 supercars on a road trip (yellow , orange and green) , any of these colours may also be different . Any of these 3 colours would be great and they're the same as on my kid's duplo (lego) bricks . Yeah yellow - bring it on
wow!
15. He could patent an'' Eddie '' series of amps
16.
I want one. Eventually. Must have; Canary Yellow paintjob Black hardware. If it has a scratchplate, that'll be black. Matching (Yellow, then!) headstock. Ebony or (stained darker) Rosewood fretboard No exposed polepieces- or I'll coat them with black nail varnish! Natural coloured frets are a necessary evil. Do DR do coated Yellow strings or will I just have to use Warwick yellow labels!!!
Now we're talkin'
17.
These are fantastic combo's, I used one for a few gigs and it was awesome, especially with an extension cab for bigger venues. Have a bump dude....
Thanking you kindly I love this, but when my band split temporarily,I went for something a little smaller for transport reasons.
18. I look at fleabay, every couple of days. I was fairly addicted at one time. Over the last say,20 months I have noticed fewer bass related items listed(proper kubicki's steinberger, schecter etc) if there are things of interest, they seem more expensive. The way things are sold now are a complete pain in the kyber pass! Too much red tape for the seller, and more cotton wool for the buyers. Last transaction I had ,involved me selling 2 concert tkts. Couldn't understand why I had to wait for payment. Of course,I know now. I try to avoid selling completely on there If I can
19. most of my amps over the years, have been purchased without trying out first. This includes my latest fab Aguilar setup
