I would imagine most music shops have some sort of internet presence, if they haven't they deserve to go bust, at one time if you wanted something locally you went to yellow pages, now you google it. It's not a question of good guys and bad guys it's evolution, just like the Supermarkets have killed off the corner shop, especially since they moved into the convenience sector

I too think he gets a hard time on here, there's an air of pomposity about, alright his''modifications' might not be to everyone's taste, but his descriptions seem totally honest so he's not trying hide anything and surely if he's selling rubbish he'd have some negative feedback by now. Alright some of his customers might be disappointed but if the item is as described that's their fault not his

I think most people can do their own basic set ups after a while, there's plenty of good tutorials on youtube, so we're back to catering for the newbies. The more I think about it the more I realise the High St and outlets like small music shops are stuffed by the internet and out of town retail parks.

yep, I'm a P man (and play in a Punk band) as well, put off getting one for a few years because being a lefty I had to splash out on a USA one, no second hand ones seem to crop up when I was was looking , tried Stingray's and Jazz's first but the P just sits in the mix so much better. I have to slightly different point but, this is why trying out equipment in shops is a waste of time, until you've lived with it and played it in a band (assuming that's what you do) you'll never know whether a piece of equipment is right for your needs.

I suppose if there's a crossover it could stop the higher frequencies going to the other speakers, just disconnect it before the crossover if there is one, doubt you could tell either way though, personally unless you're slapping I've never seen the point of a tweeter in a bass cab, I have mine switched off, not that I can tell if they're on or off

depending on the size a lot of small shops have zero business rates to pay (don't know how much location has to do with it), I know my old newsagents shop falls into that category

Cheers, we've decided on something similar, the Shure WH20 XLR so we don't have to mess about using a different plug and phantom power, there doesn't seem many about that are not designed for use with some sort of power pack

Our drummer does backing vocals, trouble is he keeps moving his head while playing so a headset mic would seem to be the answer, don't want to pay a lot and doesn't have to be wireless, any suggestions anybody?

I was looking for a lefty and I know they're not MIM, I think I got confused, Andertons do MIM for £500 so not such a bargain, unless it is a USA and they've cocked up
