  1. I would tune it EADGC, so the tension would be higher. I'll have a think about how I would repair or extract it and let you know. My in-laws aren't far from Horsham so it would give me a reason to visit them too.
  2. This popped up on FB this morning and for some reason amused me far more than such an obvious joke should 😅
  3. I've just seen you're playing The Core in Solihull next weekend, both nights sold out there as well. I'll have to keep an eye out for when you're next there.
  4. Him: the beer and food is good value here Her: and the toilets are really clean.
  5. @Lozz196 thanking anyone at all from the stage. But he's a lovely chap who profusely thanks the soundman, lighting crew, roadies and event security after his gigs and pays them straight away.
  6. Is the truss rod completely jammed in? ie: is it a fretboard off job? Would be a perfect base for a project I have in mind.
  7. Pics, please 🙂. In fact there is even a special emoji :
  8. Hope the neighbours don't mind, but today will be loud. Working at home - No meetings and an uninterrupted day to actually get things done. Better still, I bought a new CD player and amp a few weeks ago and am off to see this guy in concert tomorrow.
  9. I'd like to thank everyone who helped get this tour finally on the road after so long, especially the lawyers and accountants. Give them a big hand!
  10. So the plan is to build a deliberately cheap and hopefully cheerful bitza, to keep the guitarist happy? Or to make it sound so bad they will appreciate your nice basses? 😶‍🌫️
  11. Interesting reading this thread. I only play in church, if the bass failed it wouldn't be a huge deal except to me so one bass is fine. In a parallel universe where I was paid to gig then I would have to buy a spare bass and take it along, for all the reasons everyone else says. Low chance of failure, but very high impact, and easy to remediate the risk.
  12. Welcome aboard!
  13. Project now on hold. I was offered 2 face value tickets to see Bruce Springsteen at Villa Park this Friday, so that consumed the budget. 😅
  14. Church Weekends Away are fabulous events. Glad your Church was able to do this, and you enjoyed playing.
  15. That cheesewire strap would probably cut through his neck.
  16. I have been wracking my brains trying to come up with a caption for this but to no avail. It just looks so utterly painful!
  17. Welcome aboard! Not that you need welcoming now, but like hey, better late than never.
  18. I would go with the tan, looks like a saddle against the wood. Over time it should pick up scuffs and scratches and patina. Embossing a motif would be better on the plain leather.
  19. Ladies and gentlemen, the venue and promotors apologise for the sightly late start. This was due to the band ensuring their support act had a proper sound check.
  20. "Mustang Sally! Let it happen bass player!"
  21. Springsteen at Villa Park on Saturday 17th. A friend of mine had spare tickets at face value. 🥳
  22. Thanks for booking us at Billy's 10th birthday party! We're going to finish up with a couple of covers by our favourite artists. First it's "Tie me kangaroo down, sport", then "Do you want to be in my gang?" Get Dancing!
  23. Tickets £2.50! I've just paid £98 to see Clapton from the cheap seats at Resorts World. Last time I saw him was nearly 40 years ago, when the venue was called the NEC Arena and I think the tickets were about £15. He blew the roof off then, but I'm expecting a more sedate gig this time.
