Korg nanoPAD2 MIDI controller. From Korg's description: "Sixteen velocity-sensitive pads provide excellent response, delivering drum parts that are full of life. Four switchable scenes deliver 64 different pad assignments. The X-Y pad can control multiple Synthesiser parameters. Use the new "Touch Scale" function to intuitively play phrases on the X-Y touchpad. Simply select one of sixteen different scales, specify the root key and note range to match your song." All works perfectly, but has pink ink marks on some of the pads. These come from marking the pads with their function when the controller was used to select cameras in a livestream setup. The marks might come off, but I've been reluctant to use solvent as the pads are a soft plastic, and the marks don't affect the use. £25 +postage. Open to offers.

Westfield "Small Body" bass *open to offers* - *SOLD*

It's a Westfield, and as you can see from the 3rd photograph has a rather small body, hence the title. Very similar to a Thumb, but they couldn't call it that. A nice sounding bass (especially with the flats), and easy to play. Personally I would lower the action a bit, but others may want it left as it is. Normal 34" neck, nut width E-G 30mm, bridge E-G 60mm. Controls are passive VVT, pickups are humbuckers as far as I know. Weight is 3.5kg (7.8 lbs) on my travel scale. Strung with newish Adagio flatwounds. There's a mark on the neck, shown in the photograph, and one or two dinks in the body that are impossible to photograph. I'm selling this on behalf of my son. This was his first bass, bought 2nd hand from PMT in about 2010 when he would have been 14. He learned to play on it, and has played it for years in church until a few weeks ago. He's now playing a rather nice active bass, and has decided this needs a new home. A good bass for a youngster to learn on. Collection in person from Solihull, West Midlands, or somewhere not too far away. I could post it, at buyer's expense, but having never posted a bass I would be a bit nervous!

Truly terrible covers of the good and the great

I didn't mind that version when I first heard it. The video has put me off it though. -
Truly terrible covers of the good and the great
Richard R replied to Barking Spiders's topic in General Discussion
Anything, and I mean ANYTHING, played in B&Q. A few years ago they started playing truly terrible covers of decent songs as their background music. I complained to the manager that it was making me so annoyed I would shop elsewhere. This was fine until the other local DIY store closed down and I was forced back to B&Q. I was delighted to discover they were playing originals, but it didn't last and now they are back to utter dross. Totally soulless, devoid of feeling, mind-rotting, toe-curling excrement. -
Mackie Onyx 2in-2out audio interface with MIDI and headphone monitor. Purchased from this site in 2022 for £45, used in church as part of our first livestream setup during lockdown. (The photograph is November 2020 - man that feels like a lifetime ago!). Everything else in our livestream setup has been replaced and this audio interface was finally retired a few weeks back. Never tried the MIDI functionality, but everything else works as it should. Great little audio interfaces, with quiet clean preamps. Link to the Mackie site here: https://mackie.com/en/products/audio-interfaces/onyx-usb-interfaces/producer_1_2.html Collection from Solihull, West Midlands, or posted and buyer's expense.

The easiest way to record your band live - straight from the desk! Plug in, power up, press record. For Sale is a Cymatic LR-16 Multitrack recorder, plus 2x8way insert looms. The LR-16 is designed to plug straight into the insert points on a mixing desk, and records to a fast USB stick or a USB HDD. The device is designed to be simple to use, hit record and forget about it until the end of the night. Recordings are 16-track, 44.1 or 48 kHz, and 16 or 24-bit recording (if the HDD media is fast enough to sustain it). Inputs can be at mic level, or padded if necessary, and there is a headphone output for monitoring. The device can also be used as a 16-in 2-out USB interface for a PC. This particular one served for many years plugged into the Allen & Heath desk at my church, recording multitrack recordings of the bands for special services or when they wanted to record songs specially. It was retired when the desk dies and was replaced with a full digital desk. I made a lot of recordings with this over the years, and provided the USB was formatted correctly on the LR-16, and was fast enough, I had no problems with drop out or glitches even over 2hrs+ recording. (Like any audio equipment that writes to USB, it prefers fast media, and some brands to others. SanDisk was always OK) As far as I can tell everything works (see the photographs of power up and menu options). I will try to test it and confirm. I have included the looms, so all you need to record your band live is a desk with insert points on the channels, and a USB Hard drive. There is a bit of fluff on the body, but everything is clean. Note: There are no preamps in the device, it uses the desk preamps. Note also that yes it does connect to the INSERT points, not the direct out or other channel outs. This is a deliberate design decision as it means that simple TRS-TRS leads can be used to connect up. There is a good review of the LR-16 here: https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/cymatic-audio-lr16 These have recently sold on Reverb for ~£275, so priced to sell and including the box, psu and looms. Either collection from Solihull, or I can post at buyer's expense.

Might be that there is just too much else going on from the other instruments and they need the low frequency cutting back to make space for the bass? You can cut the bass as well, oddly enough, and that can tighten up the sound. I usually boost a small amount about 800Hz, depending on what else is going on. I'm fortunate, I do sound in the same church, so I know the venue and the players. Doing FOH for a band changing venues every night would be a much harder job.

Just as an update. I met Chris from Smooth Hound at The Guitar Show in March, I specifically went to that stand as I hoped to try one out. He said that he's not making the Smooth Hound units at the moment, and hasn't been for a year or so. However he does hope to start making them available again later this year. Check the web site periodically if you specifically want that unit.

Welcome aboard! Lots of 5 string choice on the marketplace at the moment!

I'd like to see a Kramer, so if you're able to bring it that would be great. There will be plenty of amps to try it in. If it's a pain to bring then don't worry, it will be good to see you. Meeting up is the main thing, the gear is just an excuse

There are some cracking songs in this thread, mostly new to me. A party band playing disco songs that most of the audience have never heard of would be a interesting sell, until after the first two songs then everyone would be up on the dance floor and not care. 🕺

Very impressed! Nice work. -
Great basses, but suffer from neck-dive due to the 14" headstock required to accommodate the logo.

As the dude who does FOH sound and plays bass, I can safely say that in my mixes you can tell the difference between a Rickenbacker, a Precision type thing and a Jazz type thing, if you’re really listening, but not between individual makes unless one is utterly carp. However one lad at church has started playing a much nicer bass than his first one, and his playing is now better and more interesting. On that basis alone the more expensive bass is worth it.
