  1. That's a tough call alright!!
  2. Here you go!
  3. Adrian sent me a pic of a Jake Basement in CF when I was speccing mine but it's in my work email. I'll post it for you tomorrow
  4. Oh man that's nice
  5. We did a gig once in Stockport where there was some cat stinky poo on the stage. The drummer accidentally put one of his stands in it and complained to the LL. They didn't seem to be that bothered and didn't apologise so we packed up and left without playing.
  6. Just saw an ad for a 30" Schecter Banshee bass... looks like a mashup between a P and a Telecaster. As close to a Mustang as we're going to get I think!
  7. I saw that too, strange bass to try and pull a fast one over... Good luck with it, hope it's as you expect!
  8. My Maruszczyk Jake 4p 32" is now being made! Can't wait for it to arrive!
  9. I was blown away by the trib L2000 I owned, well made and fantastic tone and versatility; it's just a shame I'm Dec from Ant and Dec sized....so the weight and heft of the neck was a real chore. Shame though as it was a great bass
  10. My MIJ P through a CMD102P was the best sound I ever had. Loved it!
  11. I think the only way to get a fair comparison is to A/B the same bass but with a J pickup in the bridge. My Squier P/J sounded noticeably different to my MIJ P - not sure if that was because of the J pickup, or the fact that the P pickups were different, Agathis v. Alder, etc. I'd be inclined to go with the latter if I had to guess.
  12. Can't fault my ignition violin bass. once it was set up with a set of pyramid flatwounds and teacup knobs it looks and sounds fantastic. Nails the 60s sound easily if that's your thing
  13. Girls aloud - the promise
  14. Seconded. Honestly, just a few more options wouldn't kill some of these manufacturers. I wait with baited breath for even a classic vibe Mustang but it's never gonna happen. And if i never see another sunburst bass it'd still be too soon!
  15. I wish they'd do some of these mustangs the wrong way round!
  16. Must resist or my custom Maruszczyk is in the toilet!!! GLWTS
  17. That is really interesting actually as it doesn't make it clear that the Haeussel is a split-coil J. The humbucker is what I want - that'll be in your Valley Green Jake if I'm not mistaken
  18. I was tempted by the Haeussels - is there much in the difference? I couldn't pick much between them from your YT clips (but my ears are knackered!)
  19. Here's mine- just can't wait until I've raised the funds for it! - Lefty of course!
  20. Thanks all 👍
  21. Merry Christmas BCers! Quick question for those in the know- You may have read my Maruszczyk thread and seen the contributions from forum members using their excellent online configurator. However, a well-known Midlands bass emporuim says on their Maruszczyk page: "Contact us to make a custom order bass". My question is, because the online configurator is so good, and Adrian is quite amenable to questions, what would be gained by going through a middle man? Presumably there'll be some sort of charge? Confused!
  22. That is just to die for... may have to rethink the surf green 😍
  23. This is what I've come up with - Lefty of course!!
  24. Thanks for the replies - I think the Aguilar AG-4P 60s are the way to go. That configurator is driving me mad- I've already built 3 "dream" basses on it! Best re-mortgage the house
  25. Hello BCers, These look fairly niche instruments, and probably satisfied by a Jag for all you rightys out there; But such instruments are rare in the left hand world, so I was thinking of commissioning a custom 32" build for an upcoming big birthday (any excuse!) I'm also tempted by the Aguilar P pickup, I've heard nothing but good things about them. Does anyone have any experience with either? TIA
