£150 delivery! I'd pay someone £150 to take that thing out of my sight.

I'm Batman! -
Ah bugger. Didn't realise someone had resurrected a zombie. Oh well, the same still applies.

I know a lot of people slag them off, but you can't go wrong with Behringer / Bugera. I've got a Behringer PA and speakers that's absolutely bullet proof and sounds superb. I also have the Bugera Veyron amp head and it's an utter beast, and one of the best sounding amps I've ever heard. I also have a Bugera 2x12 cab which I now use as an onstage moniter, again absolutely faultless. I wouldn't think twice about buying anything from the Behringer / Bugera range.

I have to profoundly disagree. Everyone knows the best metal comes from Sheffield! -

I used to be in a Hot Chocolate tribute band, and these were the only ones I could use to get that truly authentic tone. -
I have absolutely no desire to sound like anyone else. To have the playing ability of certain bassists, yeah definitely. But to straight up "sound" like someone else, where's the fun in that?

What do you consider an "acceptable" weight?
Newfoundfreedom replied to Newfoundfreedom's topic in General Discussion
Amen to that. One crushed disc. One prolapse disc. One house repossession, and one destroyed life, due to not being able to work or function for over 2 years. Back injuries are no joke. -
Considering it comes with a 2 year warranty, in that case just send it back and get a new one.

I've got two accounts. I promised myself I would never own more than three bases. Then GAS broke me in half.
-
More so for me. I find it much easier to relate to that, than going out and spending thousands on, let's say for example a Fender, which was basically a mass produced, relatively cheap instrument when it was created. But because it's a certain year, or has been played by a certain person, it's now "worth" a small fortune. Then again I've never really understood the vintage thing either. I'd much rather have something brand new, than some rusty, battered old bass that is somehow perceived as better.
-
@stewblack You should do a bit of a video review on YouTube. It's always my fist port of call when I'm trying to find out about a bass, and there's almost nothing on there about these.
-
Nice one Stew. I had a Ibanez Rick "tribute" many years ago and I always regret having sold it. One of these may well be going on my GAS list.

They're all nailed to trendy city pub walls.

Access to the Internet and amount of alcohol consumed are usually the main two deciding factors for me. 😂
-
Yup. I'd like to have seen a couple of sub £200 Squires, Harley Benton, Vintage etc thrown in there. I bet you still wouldn't hear the difference.
-
Great video that. It just goes to show that 90% of the stuff we talk about on here is utter nonsense. But then I think most of us knew that anyway. 😂

To give the bloke his due, he's a superb player, and probably a superb teacher. I just can't stand his clickbait videos and five minutes of waffle before he gets to the point. I'm sure his actual paid content is much better, but his YouTube videos are more than enough to put me off. Anyway, yes..... basses...... As you were.
-
DO IT!!!! 😂
-
Not yet, but I ordered that very bass 3 days ago and I'm currently waiting for it to arrive. To be fair the reviews on it are outstanding.

I honestly can't bear to watch that man. He makes my skin crawl.

Yes but old Rickenbackers were cr@p. Old Fenders were cr@p. Ok, while this may not be subjectively true. It's a weird situation with guitars and basses, where old technology is considered "better". In any other walk of life, technology moves on. It developes and becomes better and cheaper. But because we associate certain instruments with certain eras and kinds of music, they're considered to be the ultimate version of that instrument. It's ridiculous when you think about it. It's like selling a pre Windows, DOS PC for ten grand because it's considered a classic. "Cheap" instruments can be, and are, produced as well, if not better than "classic" instruments in the modern era for a fraction of the cost. It's the way of the the world. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that there isn't some cheap nasy cr@p around. But there is also a plethora of brilliant instruments out there for a fraction of the cost of name brands, and for a large part, it's only brand snobbery holding them back.
