  1. I like the North41 - they've just released a new album but I've not had a chance to listen yet.
  2. I only found about these guys recently when browsing through the history of this thread, I think it was that exact YT video that turned me on to them!
  3. I responded to a post JJL put up in the Wanted forum. An extremely easy BCer to deal with, swift payment and a hassle free transaction.
  4. I just sold Al Krow (Bas) my Barefaced cab. Super friendly guy with great communication. Due to distance we agreed to meet halfway between us at a Pub which provided a good opportunity for a drink and a gear chat - I just hope his GAS infliction isn't contagious 😄
  5. Just stumbled on to this thread, loads of great transcriptions - thanks for sharing your efforts!
  6. Don't yet have an opinion on DR's - they were 23£ from Amazon so thought I'd take a punt (hope they are not fakes)
  7. Didnt feel like practicing this weekebd so I decided to restring and do basic setups on my basses. Just put LaBella flats on my Fender PJ and DR Sunbeams onto my Sandberg VT. Last to go is my Mayones Jabba 5 - haven't decided what to go for as yet (other than will definitely be round wounds of some sort). What strings are doing it for you guys right now ??
  8. Saw these guys (Biscuithead and the Biscuit Badgers) at a festival not long ago.. bonkers but my kids love 'em.
  9. New Turkuaz album released today. The drummer has clearly been raiding my wardrobe.
  10. Any one subscribing to Scott's technique accelerator course? I'm really focussing on improving my technique so I'm tempted but I'm also a bit miffed it's not included in my SBL membership! Even with the members discount it's well over a $100 on top of what I've already paid :(.
  11. Sorry it didn't end up working out for you! A couple of real a-holes there.
  12. Musicman published a few videos on YouTube a few years ago with Joe demonstrating some of their basses - perhaps this is a partnership they've been working on for a while. It didn't sound like he's using flats in the video @eude posted.
  13. I kinda like it, and if it makes me play like Joe (that's what signature models do right) I'm all in!
  14. It's a great idea to set up a practice routine - you can waste precious time on unfocussed practice. Though finding what works best for you takes a bit of time. I try and practice every day if I can for 1-2 hours after the kids are in bed. Initially found I was trying to do too much 'study' and neglected to have fun with it, after all as a non professional musician that's what it is about for me. I've scaled back on the the things I've tried to learn and now have this structure - Quick Warm Up (~5 mins) - Focus Areas (~30 mins) this rotates depending on what I want to work on. Currently I'm working on right hand technique to build speed. -- Study Pieces (~30 mins) A few songs I'm learning that challenge and push me, this includes analysis of how the bass lines are constructed, playing technique etc. ~ Band Pieces (~30 mins) Time spent on learning new songs or cleaning up my playing on current setlists. If you can afford it consider signing up for Scott's Bass Lessons - lots of good material on there and you're encouraged to create and maintain practice logs.
