No, barely any fuzz has a clean blend, and judging by this video I think there's a reason for that: it just sounds odd. Clean + fuzz doesn't really work (that's my opinion).
My B.assmaster by Malekko has bass and fuzz gains. Seperate, and it sounds very fine.

Did they ever make lefty versions? A fellow lefty asking.

At the mo, I listen to ALL kinds of music, classical, jazz, blues, rock, punk, experimental, folk, and I try to make my bass sing over the chords and arrangements.

You can pick up a S/H Hiscox Liteflite for about £40. Mines been in the hold of a plane and was cool. My lefty Pbass was unscathed. -

For Sale: Rig of Doom - Ampeg / Mesa with pics ALL NOW SOLD
steve-soar replied to steve's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Hi Steve, your preamp is an SVT IIP, not an SVP II. I own an SVT IIP, the same model as yours and have owned the later SVP II and I can honestly say that the SVT IIP (yours) is a much, much better sounding piece of kit. These things are amazing and your price is great too. I would love the Strategy, is it Steve's old one? Good luck with the sale. Anyone who buys this pre will be very pleased. -
My Finn 5 32" strung E-C with a chambered body
Hi Mark. Hope you are well. That is beautiful. I'm going to order something special from Alan later on in the year.

Guy's a dude, man. (Did you see what I did there?)
-
As long as it is within the weight limit it is ok.

None from the Liverpool end, put it on the scales with my back pack and off it went. Schipol, I had to take it to a seperate booth because it was an irregular size but on either journey there were no excess charges.
-
Yes sir.
-
Well, I flew from Liverpool to Schipol with Easy Jet, then back again with KLM. Hiscox case, extra bubble wrap around the bass inside to stop vibrations. No problems what so ever. That's all.
Amazed that desktop guitar doesn't have more interesting grafitti eg. JR 4 ... 4 EVA with a big heart scratched around it...
If it had been built with a desk from my old school, there would be an "engraving" of a hairy penis on legs, with wings.
You say you're into your James Jamerson bass lines, but James Jamerson knew his theory... he could read, and he could develop ideas around chord progressions. If you're new to this then you should be starting out simply instead of diving in at the deep end. There is no point trying stuff out until you've got the nuts and bolts of your theory down. Once you've familiarised yourself with some of the sheets, then experiment. If you're well versed in Jamerson's bass lines then its worth noting his use of open strings as stepping stones to get to places, for example in the key of F major, you have your maj 3rd on your A, your maj 6th on your D, and your 9th on your G (also your maj 7th on your open E). He would regularly use his D and G strings in the key of F major as passing notes in order to drop down from his open G > F and D > C, plus every which other way. This is just an example, and there are many other instances where open strings will not be musically relevant to the key in which you are playing. But the human ear is a very forgiving thing, and James Jamerson exploited this by using open strings in order to move from non-relevant notes to relevant one. Chuck Rainey arguably took this even further in subsequent recordings with the likes of Steely Dan.
Well put.
CAN'T COOK, CAN'T CROOK Midget chef in hot water Disgraced TV Chef 'Wozza' Thompson poured his heart out today in a heartfelt plea for understanding: "I am so sorry for all my recent stupid and irresponsible actions. Buying that Victor Wooten DVD was an act of madness. I was watching it and he started thumping the strings. At that point I got so angry that I came over all giddy and had a black-out, like. Next thing I knew, I was in Tesco's and this lump of cheese was talking to me. It said: "I'm so lonely. Don't leave me here on the shelf. Take me home with you. It's what Victor would want." So I put the cheese in the bag and some bloke came up and asked me if I'd paid for it and I said "No. Victor Wooten made me do it." I am, of course, devastated for my family and friends, whom I've let down, and will seek the treatment that is clearly needed. I shall never watch bass instructional videos again" .
I have it on good authority, that after Wozza watched the Jeff Berlin instructional DVD, "Take My Breath Away"- (the art of asphyxiation with a plastic bag) he almost killed himself in the quest for Michael Hutchence style gratification. Powerful stuff, these tutorials.

Wasn't it Alexi Sayle who said that anyone who uses the word "workshop" and isn't involved in light engineering is a twat?

Played it before and IMO it sucks, dude. Total "showbiz", about as rock and roll as a tin of Farrow And Ball paint. What's with all the balloons and sh*t at the end of the video? DLR looks like he should be presenting on QVC.
