1. Hi Jackjazz. When removing pickups, you need to unsolder the wires from the volume and tone pots so as to keep them attatched to the pickups. The copper wire which is wound around the pickups is extremely fine and very difficult to successfully attatch to the wires for the controls. You may have inadvertently ruined your pickups.
2. Ralph Johnson, MASSIVELY underated drummer.

11. Inglourious Bassturd, if you've finished the book, pass it on. There are many Basschatters who would like to sign the inside of the cover with best wishes to OldGit and eventually, it will be in the hands of Mrs OldGit.

13. Hi Rob, what kind of thing are you looking for? Steve.

15. Nice basses. I like the Danelectro.
16. It's ok, they are nothing of the sort. Don't worry about it. youtube and digital editing and being ironic, stink, in my book.

18.
It wasn't just the 1000 thumbs a second brigade that gave slap a bad name, it was everywhere for a while in the 70s and early 80s and a lot of people got tired of it. As Anthony Jackson said it became the ketchup of bass playing. For me a good slap bass line will also sound great played with fingers or with a pick, if it relies purely on the slap technique it's probably a wasted opportunity to do something more melodic or relevant to the song. There can be a few exceptions though, but not too many!
The Ketchup of Bass playing. That is brilliant.
19. Best thread for ages. My wife use to follow NMA around on tour, as a girl. My good friend supported them, many years ago and he loves their music. He applied recently and has been off radar for a few days. I'm gonna ring him and find out what's happening.
20. Good luck to all, Linus 27, espec. A friend of mine has applied at the last minute. So good luck to him also.
21. Try as many as you can, someones discription of, smooth, dirty, fuzz, etc, may not be your's. I'm using Bass Big Muff Pi, Boss ODB-3 and Malekko B.assmaster. All sound good but for different things.
