7.
Crap photo but here is my pair
Stunning basses, however, your settee looks like a tampon that Marie Antoinette would use.
8.
I think in reality a pop song is a product , if a producer /writer/label/A&R or, knows their market , they know who carries influence (and enough of it) to make it sell , if they have the contacts to get on the radio 1 playlist , they have a marked advantage over the same song written and produced by us guys and gals.
A pop song is a popular song in the charts, or, a pop song written by someone/people, who want that statment to be popular. Pop is U2, Beethoveen, Beatles, M, Radiohead, Steely Dan, Black Sabbath, Rennie And Renatta, Wings, Piolet, etc, etc, etc, ...
9. Sad news.
10. If it was a new pickup it would have come with pots, connections, battery clip and new stereo socket. Is there anything obstructing the underneath of the socket when fitted into the cavity, wires etc?

12. Get a Squier, Korean bass, sunburst, around 1995 build, superb bass. Drop an EMG in it and your good to go. That's what I did, never owned one before but they are great.
13. I have n't bought strings for about 4 years, need to maybe sort that out.
14. Blame these guys. I'll tell Jeff how upset he's made you all feel when I next see him.
15. Brilliant stuff.
16. Yes, yes and yes again. Have a great time all concerned. Wish my boys could be gigging sometime soon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxhuQWKwbqY
17.
Cant claim all the credit, but I like the electric bass I played on this ( doesnt date well in retrospect, and some of you will hate it no doubt, its circa) 1990
Ha! Brill! Did I see you at The Krazy House, or The Tivoli?
18. If you want to see a mouth shaped penis sucking another mouth shaped penis for the rest of eternity, then "The Brits" is your go-to watch type of thing.
19. Good grief, they're all beautiful. Seriously. But not worth anywhere like the asking price, that is, unless you're into scarce, beautiful sh*t.
20. That's quite a rig.
21.
Well I'm stood here in a small hall, hardly anyone here, a load of Markbass ampage on the stage that's close enough to touch, and one of the grooviest live bands about to come on. This is going to be memorable. CB
feel really excited just readfing this. Have a great night. Brothers, Sisters....
22. Errr, this advert is about 4 months old. Shadows...mmm...no connection for me. Did some good work by supporting Burns but playing Fender on record. I think Hank had the same monkey glands injected into him at that Swiss clinic that Cliff did back in the 80's.
23. What a great bass player Mike was/is. This is how bands should dress.
24.
Rules are rules, it was only meant to be a bit of fun and I am sorry if you don't appreciate it. Apologies to murk , rest of you can take a running jump
Hi there and welcome to Basschat. Europes leading bass player forum. Somehow, we have managed to be on-line for nearly 8 years? We are a very cool site, with much knowledge and some sharp banter. Please enjoy your stay and get into somekind of groove with all concerned. Steve.
25.
Not quite, IIRC, Daevid Allen went to France with the Softs but wasn't allowed back into the UK, which led to him staying in France and forming Gong. Daevid and Kevin were both founder members of the Soft Machine, but the band changed hugely over its lifespan, morphing from their psychadelic roots in the late sixties to a jazz-rock/fusion outfit by the early to mid seventies (that's when Alan Holdsworth got involved). Kevin Ayers had left by the time Soft Machine Volume Two was made, replaced on bass by Hugh Hopper. Daevid Allen never even made it to the first "official" album, though he does play on the "demos" which were later released under the name "Jet Propelled Photographs". All of this is from memory, so apologies if any details are incorrect. EDIT: just checked by copy of Soft Machine Vol I, and Kevin Ayers is credited with lead guitar (no bass credit - I suspect he did that too).
Quite right. Thanks for giving my memory the support it needs.
