  1. This is the venue: https://www.facebook.com/events/morley-cheeks/morley-cheeks-jam-night/1385026628424796/ And this is one of the musicians (bass player, of course ) http://www.dyversemusic.com/2013/07/bos-70th-birthday-party.html

  3. Wombats & llamas. Been surveying railway stations (last tuesday, thursday, friday & tomorrow), then wedding on friday evening. Recovering on saturday - then BBQ, then recovering on sunday, and here I am! Da-daaaahhh!

  5. You sound like SkinnyGrandad! "In my day...all fields...shillings, farthings & ha'pence...youth of today...no manners...back of my hand...chunner...dribble...where are my Werthers..."
  6. Nice!
  7. Recently I've been going to a couple of open mic nights - one at my local bar that's just gettting up and running & one at a nearby pub that's well-established. The established one is run by a group of Windrush generation musicians who play all sorts of reggae influenced music. I've heard loads of songs I'd have never come across & leant the bass parts so I can play at the night. The open mic at my local is a bit chaotic at the moment, with people with all different tastes in music wanting to play. As a result, I've told them I'll learn anything as long as they tell me in advance, and it's working quite well so far & I'm listening to & learning all sorts of music. The only problem is in response to the question: Me: "So, you do play it in the key that is was recorded, don't you?" Them (various): "Oh yes! Of course!" Song starts... Me: "What jeffin' key are you playing it in!?!" Them: "Erm...I'm not really sure." Or... Them: "Oh, it's in Am" Me: "Fine, but you're not playing it in Am." Them: "Oh, is this not Am?" Me: "No - that's Em" Them: "Well, I just put the capo on here for a change..." Me: *sighs* "Ok then."

  17. You're quite, quite deluded my poor BonyUomo! TLRTs are finite & in limited numbers, emojis / emoticons are plentiful and bountiful! This is a common misconception amongst people of your... erm... advanced experience!
  18. You're both missing the point! I only source my emojis from the most ethical, morally upright sources! They are certified vegan-friendly, organic, and LBGTQWGFAZMT supportive. 🌈 As well as being fully-sustainable, carbon neutral! Every time I use them, I know I'm making the world a better place, & it gives me a tremendous feeling of moral superiority! Anyway, it's not like I said I was a cyclist or a dog walker, or heaven forbid - a driver! *shudders & runs away cackling*
  19. It's a bit warm for leather jackets, make sure you stay hydrated - we don't want you getting heat stroke & becoming delirious & posting nonsense on here...oh wait 🤔 Be careful with the spitting as well - it'll contribute to your dehydration. Also, check which way the wind's blowing - could end in disaster!
  20. Polite? Well-mannered? Defo - I like a good giggle!
  21. Thank you Lovely break, good weather, good accommodation, nice food, castles, beaches, sea thing etc. 'TLSMT' as you refer to her was with me, lucky thing she is! She had a lovely time too - but she felt that I'd devoted too much time to the holiday & had neglected BassChat, so here I am! Dadaaaaah!
  22. It's graftifying to see how overcome with happiness you are at this news! One does one's best!
