  1. Nothing sounds like a P bass apart from a P bass, my jazzes can get close but not the same
  2. I absolutely love that Jazzy, congratulations, it looks great, look forward to seeing any more pics
  3. That looks genuine to me, the only thing that might have been changed is the pickguard, didn’t the sunburst come with a white one?, I can’t exactly remember now it was a long time back, I briefly had an Olympic white one
  4. I remember when they came out, nice jazz, the special also had the Greasebucket tone circuit
  5. I’ve got that book, I haven’t read it all yet but it’s a really great read
  6. Marcia Griffiths , I’m also learning this one
  7. I think they definitely can be, if you watch some of Sean Hurley’s videos his effortless playing and tone is just so good , I don’t think you’d get the same outcome if it wasn’t a P bass
  8. I’ve gone full circle on this, back in the day when I started earning a few quid I bought precisions and loved them, then I got the jazz bass itch and played only jazzes for many years, they gave me the nice lows I preferred for reggae and dub, now I’m into both but really appreciate the sound of the P bass more than I did then, I couldn’t be without either
  9. Dons back with some Leroy Sibbles
  10. Very nice indeed, congrats that looks a beauty, I’m normally into 68-72 Precisions but I’ve been looking at a few 66’s lately
  11. Welcome Cj
  12. I’ve thought about doing that a few times to one of my not so expensive precisions, I’m assuming it’s the one on the Sean Hurley P bass , I’ve got the Bassmute on one which is really good but they are a bit pricey
  13. The switch on mine used to stick occasionally so I took it to ashdown and Dave removed it for me, I didn’t use it really , he did say that they wasn’t a great idea in the first place, for headphone practice I use the Nux pro
  14. Sounds great hiram, a few off the top of my head without getting too into the heavier reggae stuff , theres many Marley songs maybe pick your favourites , Buffalo soldier, Jamming, three little birds etc Sweat - inner circle Jimmy Cliff - You Can Get It If You Really Want The Melodians – Sweet Sensation, one of my faves Baby I Love Your Way - big mountain I see you already do good thing going by Aswad , that’s a great song, Shine is another one more will come to me soon 😁
  15. Listening to some Alborosie today
  16. Love that frank, congrats, I’ve always liked those myself
  17. Just bought one of peters books, great comms and quick delivery, many thanks, Tony
  18. Nothing wrong with that, just how Leo intended
  19. Wo, hang on a minute here, people use more than 5 frets 😲
  20. FWIW, from the not very clear pics I think it’s genuine, if the seller could check that the blocks are stickers ( which is quite easy ) , if they aren’t stickers then there’s something wrong and I’d stay away from it
  21. It matches really well, very nice
  22. Good one, I like that, pretty heavy
  23. Some also have the Allen key nut at the heel, pretty sure my 2014 jazz has that
