    That’s strange, they are my normal strings and I’ve swapped quite a few sets about from different basses, I’m sure they will even out again , perhaps they need a good slapping 😁

    I’ve been there many times , they got lots of equipment there and it’s quite a good shop for basses, nice practice room to try them out, although it’s on a small industrial park it looks really secure, I’m surprised someone managed to get in

    Shaolin Temple is probably one of my favourite albums from Barrington , around 1979 and backed by the roots radics , there’s some great Basslines on the album, which I think might be on YT, this is a great song

    It’s very thin but strong , I wrapped it round a few times until they were snug and screwed the tuners back in place, it was quite solid after, the tape is really cheap so it’s worth a try

    I’ve used the PTFE tape before on a jazz I bought and the previous owner had changed the tuners which were very slightly smaller , I wrapped the ferrules a few times with the tape very tightly , it’s quite strong, and it was fine, definitely worth a try 👍

    I bought the Ampeg classic preamp pedal just to play about with , and was really surprised how close in sound it is to my ampeg amp, they aren’t overly expensive either
