I'm offering my MTD535 for sale. Korina body, wenge neck. The body shows an amazing kind of golden 'quilted maple' glow. I'll try to get it on picture later on. In an included personal letter from Michael Tobias he confirms the serial number written on the back of the headstock. It has an very early (1996) number, 171. AMAZING bass with an AMAZING output. 18mm stringspacing, comes with the original brown tolex MTD case. price : 1650£ insured shipment included
That's very nice indeed.. Good luck with the sale!
The ART V3 add some colouration but I wouldn't call it a valve colouration in the sense of added warmth and “subtle saturation if pushed”. To my ears the V3 sounds more a clean DI with some tonal variations (not necessarily tube-oriented). Having said that, it doesn't cost a fortune and if you don't like it you can always eBay it...
OK, thanks.. Sounds like it'd be worth hearing one first then if I can?

The Kingston Artist range don't come up for sale very often, probably because there aren't that many around in the UK in the first place. I've had two of them myself; the single pick up version and the two pick up version, both 5 string models. They were excellent basses with extrememly comfortable necks and which were also nice and light too. Good value for money too as I paid about £200 each for them.. Both mine were bought s/h - on on Bassworld and one off Ebay. Definitely worth checking out if you can find one.. Oh, and the other thing that's cool is that, if you have any problems with them, you can email Mike Tobias about it and he emails you back with an answer himself, which is amazing!
I have the TUBE MP STUDIO V3. For the price it is a good mic preamp but I am not overwhelmed by the sound as a DI. It is not bad but if you look for a transparent DI that transfers the sound of your bass to the console without coloration, I would look elsewhere.
I was actually looking for it to provide some valve colourtion in the signal chain before my solid state amp, so on that basis, it would fit the bill for me I think. I use the amp to send a signal to the mixing desk..
Ian, I had 11 basses at the start of the week with two more ACGs on the way. As I said earlier, I would FAR rather sell my Lakland Bob Glaub than this one. But the Lakland doesn't feedback on church gigs, so this has gotta go.
If it doesn't sell quickly, perhaps you should consider putting some hum cancelling p/ups in it?
(skankdelvar @ Nov 30 2008, 01:36 PM) The doors of Heavenly Paradise are henceforth shut to all humanity until you, SINMAN repenteth and go forth into the wilderness and pluck for me from the fiery bush a Mojo-laden yet somehow entirely pristine NOS '55 Precision and send it to: Pastor Billy Bob Spittoon Latterday Church of Non-Believers 15, The Council Houses Cemetary Crescent Littlehampton

Blimey, I'm a heartless basstard! I've never had one (unless G&L count by connection through Leo) Nik & I will be looking out for this one landing
Yep - too right Al! I nearly fell off my chair when I saw that Littlehampton had been mentioned in a thread as no-one ever mentions this place.. But if for some very, very wierd reason fellow bass players want to send their basses here, then who are we to stop them.. I'm sure we can find a way to set up some kind of mail re-direct... Must say, it's good to see everyone getting so 'biblical' on a Sunday.. Which roughly translates to having an arguement and shouting in a Charlton Heston kind of way!
End of month BUMP! Another price reduction! I'm wondering why this hasn't gone yet, because it's a really good bass. Do I need more pics or is something else wrong?
I've also been wondering why this hasn't gone as well, because these Tribute G&Ls are great basses. At the SE Bass bash in 2007, I played a Tribute L-2500 side by side with a USA model and there was very little difference in playability or sound between them Always wanted one myself but can't really justify a third 5 string at the moment.. Maybe more pics would help Nik but it's a pretty good price for what is a great bass! Have a free BUMP! -
I owned a fretless 5-string Sei with the full Wal electronics setup for a while... however, I believe these were actually cannibalised from a Wal, rather than provided separately. That was a lovely bass - it's living in Japan now.
I think I saw that bass on one of the Forums a while back Russ; lovely combination of the best of innovative UK bass design!
Greg, I think i can speak on everyones behalf saying its nice to have the warwick guys on the BC friendlist! We need to make a pact with finnbass and take down TB. We will fight them on the fretboards!
+1 Especially to building some bridges with Finnbass.. I think taking on TB might be an 11-stringed ERB too far...
