**SOLD** Thanks for all the interest! Hi Folks I bought this Zoom B2 1.u. Multi-Fx Unit about 2 years ago here on Basschat and in that time have used it at countless gigs & rehearsals where it has been very good indeed.. It's got so many features for the money, it's untrue! But since I bought Stevie's TC Electronics pre-amp last month, i'm just not using this or any other fx units at all, so I thought I'd see if anyone here is after one.. So, here it is offered for sale at £45 o.n.o. which is a bit less than I paid for it and still about £60 cheaper than you can buy them new at places like Andertons (see HERE). Features: The Andertons site lists the following, which sums it up nicely! 'Bass Guitar Effects with USB Interface in Pro Audio Specs The G Series effects pedals are the most powerful Zoom has introduced to date. All are based on an all-new ZFX-3 processor: 32-Bit Processing, 96kHz sampling, 24-Bit A/D, D/A converters. Like its little brother, the Zoom B2, the Zoom B2.1U comes with seven effects modules with 45 effects types, an ultra-wide frequency response of 20Hz-40kHz (which is 20kHz wider than some pro-quality recording studio preamps), a built-in drum machine with 40 rhythm patterns, an integrated chromatic tuner. Along with all of this, the B2.1U adds an expression pedal to get the most out of your Zoom-tones, and when you're ready to record, the Zoom B2.1U incorporates a USB interface, and includes Cubase LE software! What makes it really cool, is that you can record to DAW with zero latency, which is incredibly important for guitar players. Did we mention that you get all this and world-famous Zoom-tone at a price that'll make you look Twice? ' Reviews: There is a lot online about it, but the Harmony Central reviews are pretty helpful I'd say! have a look here at the REVIEWS There's also a lot of stuff on Talkbass (and even here IIRC) about how to use it, favourite settings etc. I tended to use it most as a tuner, a mute, a volume boost, a way of balancing different basses with different outputs during a gig, and for it's auto-wah type effect..It was also brilliant for rehearsals where I'd just take it and 1 bass along and DI straight into the PA!! Photos: Here's a photo of the unit itself...As you can see it's in quite good condition and comes boxed with manual.. I will have a hunt for the box, manual and CD that it came with and upload those later or tomorrow. I'm happy to post it and if that is what's required and I promise that it will be very well packed! If you're local and want to come and collect it and have a listen, then by all means please do. Payment is cool by Paypal, cheque or cash on collection of course! Thanks for looking..any questions - please PM me or just ask away here. Cheers Nik

SOLD!! Hi Folks I bought this Aphex Bass Xciter unit well over a year ago on here and have used it quite happily since as part of my fx chain..However, as I have just bought Stevie's TC electronics pre-amp, all my other fx units have become redundant! Pictures: Features: APHEX 1402 Bass Exciter, 1/4" Jack and XLR-DI Out, Ground Lift, powered via batterie, Netzteil (AC&CS) and Phantompower, connector for AC Adapter ( AC Adapter not included (5-32 VAC) ) Reviews & Switch issue: I got it quite cheap as I recall because the switch has a slight fault, in that it can be a bit intermittent. However, as I always used this in an 'on' setting, it never troubled me. The reviews on Harmony Central here mention this problem with the switch, but like me, most people seem to use this unit in the 'on' setting all the time too! Seems quite a popular effect though... Price: Price new is anywhere from £85-£95 online (see here and here), but bearing in mind the switch issue, I'm asking £25 plus p&p for it by PayPal, cheque or cash on collection.. I'm happy to ship it safely packaged to wherever..Any questions, feel free to ask or send me a PM. Thanks for looking Nik

SOLD pending the Usual.. Hi Folks I bought this earlier this year to use with one of my Roscoe Beck V string basses and it was very good indeed..Excellent sounding e.q., plus a great D.I. box and the AGS distortion feature is pretty useful too.. But since I bought Stevie's TC Electronics pre-amp last month, i'm just not using the Tone Hammer at all.. So, here it is offered for sale at £100 o.n.o. which is a bit less than I paid for it and still about £65-70 cheaper than you can buy them new at places like Thomann (see HERE). Features: The Thomann site lists the following, which sums it up nicely! 'Aguilar Tone Hammer - preamp and D.I. box, foot-switchable 3-band EQ with parametric mids, bass, treble, gain and master volume. AGS (adaptive gain shaping) for more gain, foot switchable D.I. (pre or post EQ), ground lift.' Reviews: There is a lot online about it, but the Harmony Central reviews are pretty conclusive I'd say! have a look here at the Tone Hammer reviews on Harmony Central Soundclips: Even better than the reviews, is the soundclips section of the Aguilar website. Have a look & listen HERE! Photos: Finally, some photos of the unit itself...As you can see it's in pretty good condition and comes boxed ith the right PSU and manual (though it's very easy to use)..Some velcro was added to the underside by the previous owner which is very helpful as it happens, though it could be removed should you wish.. I'm happy to post it and if that is what's required, then I can promise that it will be very well packed! If you're local and want to come and collect it and have a listen, then by all means please do. Payment is cool by Paypal, cheque or cash on collection of course! Just bought a TC Electronic pre-amp from Stevie and apart from the unit itself being great, the communications were brilliant throughout and the packing was excellent!! Totally pleasant experience, from start to finish.. Highly recommended! Thanks Stevie

Hi Folks, I have just bought a Yamaha bass from fluffo (Mark) and wanted to say that it was a real pleasure from start to finish..great bass too.. Apart from welcoming me into his place quite late in the evening to try out and buy the bass, he made me a grand cup of tea and entertained me with lots and lots of good 'bass-chat'.. Mark knows his stuff and looks after his gear so should you ever have to deal with him, take it from me that you can do so in complete confidence! Thanks again Mark...hope to see you at the next SE Bash in November! Nik
-
+1 Well said Nick! I can only add to that by saying that when i first met Dave (at the SE Bass Bash in Guildford in 2007), he made me feel very welcome and helped me really enjoy the day, which was great because it was the first bass bash i'd been to and I was a tad nervous at the start.. Every time i've met or spoken to Dave since then, he's been exactly as Nick described; a very kind, knowledgable and supportive member of this bass community which he's made a huge contribution to over the last few years!
Dear Ros, I've just seen your post and would like to express my sincerest condolences to you personally for your sad loss and say thank you for taking the time to reply to all here. I think it's safe to say Simon will not be forgotten here on Basschat and as you've seen (and already know), he was a very well-respected and valued member of the bass community. I'll also look forward to news of whichever charity you decided to nominate in Si's memory. A tribute gig is a great idea, too! Best wishes to you and your family, Steve (Stingray5)
+1
Very very sad. We never met but we PM'd many times about vintage Precisions! He was one of the real experts here, no attitude or rhetoric, just knowledge and experience, these coupled with a real desire to share both without any sense of "I'm the expert". His many threads and posts over many years will ensure that we and future members will continue to benefit from his generous nature and extensive experience. My thoughts are with his family and friends. Chris
+1 Like Chris, I never met Si but we shared a number PMs over the years about a diverse range of things..basses (obviously), websites, setting up Bass Bashes, marketing etc..On all occassions he was warm, funny, generous and sincere and you can't ask for much more than that from the people you meet in life! I've only just found out this news this morning and am truly shocked.. I've got 2 gigs this weekend and will dedicate them to him I think.. My condolences go out to all those who he held dear and to all those who knew him.

Hiring a Double Bass for 1 gig - SORTED THANKS
silverfoxnik replied to silverfoxnik's topic in EUB and Double Bass
Wont he have a tough time of it if he doesn't regularly play DB? An EUB might be easier for him unless the gig is totally acoustic.
Definitely! In fact, that's what he's sorted out now.. Thanks for the help folks!
