    I remember Rolled Gold. IIRC it was an early 'Greatest Hits' compilation, so not really an album in the true sense(?), so your reputation is intact(?) 😁 edit: I'm still absorbing the weight of the opening post here... I kinda thought it was an 'unwritten law' to never admit to not ever owning 'Blonde on Blonde'...

      @TheGreek, to me there's no careful data gathering, analysis or theorem development about this, and certainly no logic. To me it's all about what us Dutchmen in Norway call "having a sense for it". Dunno if that translates well to Greek... or English for that matter. Me, I just love it no end, and I think it might mostly be about the notion that someone saw those boxes and had imagination enough to paint them this exquisitely simplistic, unique and to the point (in my mind, that is).
      Sorry mate, I'm just pulling your leg. There's a huge tractor hiding in the background, that's why! 😂

    Mr Foxton's 1970s Ibanez 4001 was the 'Fireglow' colour, apparently... his black one, red one, white one, cream one, probably other ones - were real. 😁

    Is it also the ash body, or the 1977 pickups? ... The others certainly sound "wooly" compared to the awesome brown one.

    There is great wisdom in this post ^^^^. it's what I was attempting to touch on in my OP, about "Rickenbacker players". No shrinking violets, no fat wooly fingers, and often found in their natural habitat -- 3 piece band. 👍

    Why not? If you buy fairly wise, vintage or second hand, you probably wouldn't lose a penny. Might be better than money in the bank (at .25% interest or whatever). I'd be quite happy with getting all of these for starters (except the Gibson, obviously 😁)

    I remember those cheap "Top of the Pops" albums from Woolworths! (what a disappointment they were, to a young boy). But, I'd say that the "generic" feel of those records was likely more about the production methods (we must get a decent rendition of these top 20 songs down, and double quick because we're on studio time! Start the click track!).
