  1. Thanks for the reply, I haven't googled yet as I thought their may be some wise words to be found in here. Looks like I'll be needing some Titebond then...
  2. I've always found Joe Satriani a little clinical. His baselines are the dullest root note plodding too. I prefer Vai.
  3. Hi folks, I am after some advice regarding the fingerboard on this fretless SGC Nanyo. It is lifting away as can he seen in the photos - can anyone recommend the best method to repair it? I am thinking it needs to be completely removed, the mating surfaces returned to flat and then re-glued. Am I wrong? Thanks in advance.
  4. Adrian kindly offered me some boxes to ship bass guitars in, and ended up swapping his fretless (and slightly poorly) SGC Nanyo for my Curbow. He is a proper gent and a pleasure to deal with
  5. I have a feeling it's as much about the nut end for Woody, after talking to him at a Bass Bash. We are pretty much polar opposites regarding string spacing, which at least means we won't be chasing the same instruments!
  6. That sounds ideal for me @Woodinblack Now, where's that lottery ticket?
  7. Here's a bit of a rarity - sadly beyond my means at the moment.. @Bassassin what do you think of this? https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/1982-washburn-force-8-bbr-k-bass/1299347287

  9. At this year's SW Bass Bash - @Jimrs2k2 let me try out his Status (Kingbass I think?) What an amazing thing it is, I'll definitely own a Status one day.
  10. Bungees would help prevent it falling over.
  11. Whether you like Oasis or not, they did at least wake up countless people to the existence of rock music.
  12. It has all the key features - body shape, bolt on neck, EMG hz pickups, the same bridge, headstock logo and truss cover shape (although yours is missing) The made in Korea description on the back is the same as mine too, and my serial number is 3877.
  13. I think the financial success I mentioned already gives clear confirmation that people want to see their favourite music performed live, and are quite happy to pay for the privilege. Especially when the original band don't perform any more.
  14. I'm pretty sure that's a Q5 Pro like mine. Edit - in fact I would even put money on it!
  15. It would affect the acoustic sound far more than what you get through an amp as your ears hear the reflected sound waves off the front face of the body, but even then probably unnoticeable. The pickups work on magnetism so the effect of different paint is going to be negligible.
  16. Which one? They always used to do a 2-part set with a Bon Scott to start and a Brian Johnson to finish.
  17. Har, that's a pretty accurate description of me. Welcome, Christine
  18. He died a few years ago unfortunately. The group is still going - Livewire, AC/DC tribute.
  19. My mate used to play in a tribute band, their turnover was more than 250k a year.
