1. Is there a way to play a harmonic and slide up a couple of tones on a fretted bass? Ta.
2.
I must admit to struggling to find a symphonic, blackened death metal band in deepest, darkest Wales. Especially as I don't drive.
Where in wales are you?
3. Saw him with ST a few times. Bit special!
4. I can never play eye of the tiger correctly. When the riff comes second time, I always miss it. Mental block. That and the bass to 'go your own way'. Stuff like Bach I find easy. We is all different.
5. It's all fretw***. That's what the wife calls it. Like tapping a guitar. But I love it. Oddly, if I'm asked to slap a classical guitar, as some pieces do, down by the bridge, it's arty.
6. I like the bit where he plays an e minor wiv an F# on the top of it. Somewhere in the second side. Reminds of taking acid competitively as a kid.
7. Tune the strings differently. Stops your hands going to the same places.
8. Is he muting the top string on purpose? Sounds broken.
9. Aaaaah fretw*** as my wife calls it. Being playing guitar for a few whiles but just started bass. I see he's playing free strokes but that's to achieve the pop innit? If you play scales, do you play free or rest strokes? Maybe it doesn't really matter.
10. What is double thumbing????! So if I'm playing an i m i m i m i m type thing, on the same string on a bass, I should use free strokes? What about a three finger gallop? This is turning into an up Pompeii routine. Cheers!
11. Rest strokes or free strokes? I'm new to bass so please bear with me. Grrrrrrrrr.
12. Drink no more than two pints before playing but drink heavily while you're on. Take your time.
13. Preparation is everything. Good luck!
14. Some bloke in the pub was trying to explain how pianos are tuned out of tune with the frequencies. Something to do with how the human ear hears stuff at the top end. Weird.
15. Steely Dan. Creepy Dad Rock! It's all subjective though innit.
16. Being asked to play a cover! Like painting by numbers innit.
