  9. i solder a wire from the copper tape to the back of a pot ,,,works for me.
  10. thanks for the reply ,,,all the wiring looks ok continuity from bridge to control plate all the pots are wired ground to each other. i ll give gak a call later and see what they say. cheers
  11. ill have a look inside but it was wired between the pots, but i didnt really notice if the wire was to ground .
  12. ive just got hold of a squier 40th jazz. needed a tweek to the truss rod to stop strings rattling and lined the cavity with slug tape which has stopped the buzz from the fluorescent tubes. ... but i cant turn the volume off from either the neck nor bridge pups. the controls work but they don't turn the volume off completely, in fact its still loud enough for me to practice in my little music room playing along to cd's with both controls turned right down. just wondered if anyone has had this " problem" . i can live with it or maybe change the pots at some point .
  13. the neck feels really nice . a bit heavy but at least theres no neck dive 😁
  14. ive just received a 40 th vintage jazz and it exactly 10lbs.
  15. does anyone know the difference between the gold and vintage 40th jazz basses apart from the obvious ?
  16. i think the first thing i would have done was see what the cab was running at . sounds like its sorted now so moot point.
  17. just because the bloke on their website uses the word crimp right after bending the string dosen't make it right, no need for the snide comment was there.
  18. ah bending not crimping then ,,thought id missed another way of stopping the outer and inner separating ,,,cheers.
  19. how do you crimp a string ?
  20. but are not all basses with frets P's , going on the reason they were called precisions in the first place ? whereas now its the pup configuration that defines them . anyway i'm going to talk ( the o.p. ) out of getting a fretless JUST GET ONE !..... damn.
