  1. How odd. Multi speaker cabs often have the capability to switch between series and parallel connection to match to the amp. If there is only one driver speaker the switch possibly adds a series or parallel resistor which only makes any sense if connecting to a valve amp? It might be worth opening up the cab to see what the switch does
  2. Thanks for the response. ME500 etc.. would be a great idea but totally outside our budget I'm afraid. Maybe If I find I have "spare" Aux channels I could give a stereo mix to the lead singer, as that's generally the most problematic area.
  3. Blackstar Unity 60 compact lightweight (12Kg) bass combo for sale. Voice and sensitivity switching as well as built in compressor and chorus. 60W class D amp and 10" speaker. 3 band eq with sweepable mid. Great versatile combos ideal for practice, rehearsal or small gig. Can also be paired to Blackstar compatible cabinet link gear for more power. Line in / balanced DI and aux input.
  4. Question, what are peoples views on mono vs. stereo in ear monitoring. I am planning to go down the wired in ear route for the church worship band at the same time as putting the drums in an isolation booth to get control of the balance and overall sound level. I have 8 aux channels available for band monitors on the AH Qu16 which would not be enough for all the band members to have stereo (there is usually up to 5 or 6 band members). Does mono work well enough? I'm also thinking of using the Qu-you monitor mix app so everyone can set their own mix on their phone, along with some behringer P2 headphone amps perhaps
  5. I use something similar to this with adjustable height and tilt for a GK 2x10 cab and mb500 head. It works well but have to watch for the head sliding off. I should really put some Velcro on there. I can hear much better with it competing with a 7 piece funk /soul band so stage volume is quite high with the horns and drums in particular. The only downside apart from having another piece of gear to load in is that there is no convenient place to put my drink down!
  6. They sound surprisingly good as well. I've got too much gear though so something has to go!
  7. So there is an upside then! lol.
  8. Does your amp have a DI output on XLR or even an line /preamp out TS socket? If so you could route these to your monitor(s) using standard balanced XLR mic cables. That way your tone should be more accurately heard from the monitors and you'd be less likely to introduce hum or noise as the DI out will be a balanced signal. If you don't need the backline speakers, for example at home or rehearsal, just use the head as a preamp without the speakers? I am surprised that with a 1 x 15 and 2 x 10 cab (presumably 2 x 10 vertically stacked on top of the 1 x 15) that you can't hear it well enough without the additional monitors.
  9. FATAR studio 900 MIDI keyboard with 88 fully weighted keys making this a really solid and heavy bit of kit. Comes with power supply and user manual. I did test it with my DAW and it all the keys worked. I'm afraid that that's the limit of my MIDI knowledge! These were highly rated when introduced in the mid 1990s and about £600 new.
  10. Midi keyboard by Miditech, probably from 1990s complete with 5v power supply. It has the old style 5 pin DIN connectors for MIDI in / out and a TS socket for a sustain pedal (not included). 61 non weighted keys and therefore not very heavy. It all seems to work as far as I can tell with my limited experience of using MIDI keyboards - I did try it out with a MIDI to USB convertor with my Reaper DAW and all the keys work, but that was the total extent of my knowledge and testing!
  11. Peavey Bandit guitar combo for sale. Made in USA blue stripe model with 85W output and Sheffield 12" speaker. These are nice sounding and loud amps and one of the most desirable of the long running Bandit range. Full working order and in good cosmetic condition. The picture shows a knob missing from the presence control - a similar but not matching knob has now been fitted. The original was lost, along with the protruding pot shaft at some point in it's life!
  12. Torque 65 watt 1 x 12" guitar combo. Fitted as standard with a Celestion G12 speaker. In full working order and good cosmetic condition. Usual guitar amp features of switchable clean and distortion channels with gain boost switch and effects loop, Master volume control and reverb. Loud enough for most rehearsal and small / medium gigs.
  13. I also found a suitable size laptop bag in a charity shop for £5.00 which gives a good level of protection for those who don’t need hard cases for everything. The side pockets are also perfect for cables etc. I did look at the behringer bag for the amp but only briefly when I saw the price!!
  14. Vintage solid state guitar combo, branded Sound City. The amp is identical to my other listing for a Kay Fashion combo. I would guess that the amp is about 15W gain, treble, bass and volume controls. All working fine with a few crackles when first switched on then settles down to nice quiet operation. The speaker is a dual cone 12" driver in a sealed enclosure. In great cosmetic condition for its age (probably 1970s) and quite sweet sounding. Would be ideal for home or small practice venue use whilst adding a vintage vibe to the room.

  16. Just received my KZ ZS10 pros, ordered from the KZ Global store on AliExpress on 7 Jan, so quite an impressive shipping time from China. The cost was £29.34 including shipping and tax. I'm really impressed with the sound and they're a clearly audible step up to all previous earbuds that I've used - good clear sound across the frequency range and way more clean bass than I've had before! They are quite a bit more bulky and heavy so only time will tell how I feel after wearing them for a whole session though. Thanks to everyone that recommended them and gave me the confidence to go with my first AliExpress order.
  17. Is the correct wiring diagram out there anywhere or could it be put on this forum? I just like to get into the techy stuff!
  18. I've had this Lion branded hollow body short scale bass for many years. It has a lovely woody full tone which works well for the jazz gigs I do and a really fast narrow neck. It's also very light indeed. I've never been able to find out much about it so wondered if anyone else has one or knows anything about them?
  19. Just bought some used Tru-bass strings from Matt. Easy transaction from start to finish A pleasure to deal with. Thank you
  20. Amazing condition for it's age. I have a '69 tele with the original style single coil pickup - love it but it really shows it's age!
  21. Yes it's very well thought out and made. Ideal for a small band lighting rig, controlled from the stage.
  22. Looks nice. I love the feel of a jazz neck with edge bindings. Are the block inlays actual inlays or painted? Thanks
  23. I'm an engineer based in Wells, trading as Hurstbatch Services . I will work on anything that is not surface mount (I don't have the gear or the eyesight for that!). I've repaired many valve amps, solid state as well as bass wiring and speakers and keyboards - in other words I'll have a go at most things!
