  1. I’ve always found them very helpful, even when you don’t buy anything. Good to see they’re still providing a service that will keep folk coming back.
  2. Happy? Dunno. I’m not sure if it’s down to the likes of me to be happy or sad about a particular company’s business model that hasn’t changed and has worked and still works for them. If they changed that model, then it might be open to comment and criticism, as in the recent changes to Sadowsky business model with Warwick. As things stand, as much as I’d like to own a Wal, I won’t, as I can’t justify having that amount of money tied up in an instrument, even before you get to the crazy waiting times. I have one bass that is rather premium (not Wal level money) and I wonder if I shouldn’t move that on and use the funds for something else. I like to own basses for sure, but I’m quite pragmatic about their worth if they’re not getting used much and I’m not working in a band where they might see some action.
  3. One Scotch One Bourbon One Beer - George Thorogood
  4. She’s Gavisgone - Hall & Oates
  5. Yes they do and there’s an element of Hayman/Shergold in there too. I’d really like a Mullarkey, but the price has gone up considerably in the last year or so and that model is now north of £2k

  7. I Love A Lassie - Harry Lauder

  12. Groundhog Blues - The Groundhogs

  14. Keep Your Hands To Yourself - Georgia Satellites
  15. I lived in London and was exactly the right age to be the target demographic for punk. I hated it with a vengeance at the time, but I’ve come round to some of it over the years.
  16. Queen of the Highway - The Doors
  17. I think just for ease of repair/replacement/adjustment/customisation bolt ons for me. Yes, upper fret access can be hindered, but many systems seem to have overcome that. From an aesthetic POV, neck through.
  18. Which, given how Malcom McClaren used particular, promotional tactics, makes one wonder if it has all been on purpose and in cahoots.
  19. Mississippi Queen - Mountain
  20. Yes, I think so. I pretty much put all my bases through my Sadowsky preamp pedal and this adds some of that active boost you get from a normal ‘Ray but without the brittleness I have experienced on a couple of the 3 band models. Although I’m not particularly a slap player, it does that well enough for my needs, whilst sitting/cutting in/through the mix for finger style, just like a normal ‘Ray. Having the series/single/parallel option just adds to the versatility. It’s all about that pickup placement IMO, and the SS pickup is in the same relative place as the 34” scale.
  21. I’ll Follow You Into The Dark - Death Cab For Cutie
  22. Darkness on the Edge of Town - Bruce S.
  23. I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) - The Proclaimers
  24. Should've got somebody with a voice to sing it then, not (insert derogatory description of your own choosing here). Anyway the gig wasn't for George, why did he get a favourite?* *Irritable, rhetorical question, no answers required.
