  1. My 2 for now:) A 79 sabre and a classic model stingray. The sabre is strung with Fender flats which makes the character really come out, especially with 2 pickups engaged. The brand new classic just arrived yesterday. Ive had it set up to my likings (nut needed to be leveled down) and it really plays great. Though I didnt have the chance to plug it in yet. My practice rig is now stored (after a small gig last weekend) at our bands rehearsel space, and I wont be able to play this beauty plugged before next monday😥
  2. Up for sale or trade: Music Man sabre '79 hybrid A hybrid of a 1979 Sabre bass with a 1990 fretless Stingray neck with schaller tuners. Its a perfect fit with the neckpocket. This one has the bullet trussrod, so no adjustments were made to the body. The bass plays and sounds great. Its currently fitted with flatwounds as I find it having a great character. And it plays smoother than rounds of course. The neck is straight and trussrod turns both ways with pleasure. It has a nice pao ferro fretboard and some birds eye in the maple! As you can see, this bass has seen some action. It has a lot of usermarks and lacquer damages. The bridge saddle from the A is non original, as are the strapbuttons. This bass really has some greats sounds in it, and actually I might miss it when swapping it. Though I will not use a fretless on stage in the near future, so will probably buy a much cheaper fretless and put the money for the sabre elsewhere. Ive still got a fretted sabre though:) The neck has been sold. I'm asking 900 gbp for the body. The bass is located in the Netherlands, but im happy to ship within europe at buyers risk. Tradewise i'm interested in (per example): mustang bass, Yamaha JB600r, fender bullet deluxe bass, perhaps the early 80s gold jazz bass (long shot!) or an other early 80s Fender jazz with dot n bound neck, Squier JV or sq, mustang guitar or similiar.... Realistic offers only please. Please do not hestitate to contact me if you have any questions or a good trade offer. Cheers
  3. These are great sounding and well built basses. I bought one as a replacement for my 71 telecaster bass. Im really satisfied with it. It had some upgrades though. The scpb-3 should be a valuable improvement on this bass. Glwts
  4. Tempting. I bet it sounds great with those emg pickups.
  5. Hows the fretboard? It appears to be a bit dry from the pics, cant judge well though. What a beautiful bass. Btw, Ive got an old Kawai catalogue with these basses in it. I could provide pics if someones interested.
  6. Great basses. Ive got a 83 sienna burst that I really like. Mine has the same tuners. Glwts
  7. Complete set incl bushings from a '79 sabre bass. Those are rarely offered. All work fine. One has a slightly bowed ear. Includes 16 screws of which a few seem non original. Now £175
  8. Hi there Looking for replacement toggle switch. Its this one: Anyone has a suggestion of a switch that would a good fitting replacement? I really have zero knowledge about this, so Im not really sure if there are certain specs that are do's or dont's. Thank you
  9. Fake. The logo says enough, doesnt exist with that truss rod at the headstock.
  10. Anybody needs an original Yamaha BB tuner? It has the 3 hole groundplate. I bought a set for my early 90s bb1100s a few years back. Needed just 3 to bring it back to original. I have 1 left, complete with bushing etc, as far as I can see.
  11. Did a pedal trade with Goran. Great communication, and a cool addition to my pedalboard arrived at my home without any problems. Thanks.
  12. Great sounding Qtron. Its the gigantic big box model. Sale includes an original 24v adapter w 2 pin european plug. Asking £130 The pedal is located in the Netherlands but could be shipped. Cheers
  13. As I replaced the neck of my Sabre with a fretless one, so I have this original pre eb neck left over. The neck has had a fretdress early this year. I replaced it because I like a very low action as I have on my Fender jazz, and this neck didnt make that happen as such without buzzing (though it wasnt much amplified). But actually this neck will play fine for most of us. The truss rod bullet has been worn out by use of a wrong size wrench tool by a previous owner, and must be replaced. Replacements can be acquired through the Ernie Ball distributor (I have the part number somewhere in my email). The truss rod itself is still adjustable. I had the chance to tweak it before the bullet rounded out fully. I should have replaced the bullet earlier, but was impatient... The neck is in used shape of course. As you can see on one of the pictures, there are fine lacquer cracks at sides of the frets. If I can sell the neck at a reasonable price, im happy to sell it instead of storing it away. Asking £600,-. I think thats a fair price. Right? Trades will be considered. Im situated in the Netherlands, but im happy to ship within europe. Please contact me if you have any questions.
  14. G3 reissue..... the weird epiphone ripper... An accurate reissue of some of these basses would really sell well.....I think
  15. Pretty, pretty, pretty!! Ive had an artist version once. Sounded great, but weighed about 5,2 kilos I remember. How is the weight of this one?
