Sandberg 5 string bass project: Here I have a neck and body from an early 90s Sandberg bass. The Koa (I think) body has a nice birdseye maple top, and looks great. It has some wear, but no major structural damages. When I got it as a complete bass, the truss nut had been worn out. I replaced the truss rod bullet with a new one, and all seemed fine. But when adjusting to the right tension, the nut wouldnt turn enough to adjust. It feels like something there is loose or out of place (doesnt feel broken to me as there still seems to be reponse), but I do not have the technical skills to think what to do about it. I dont want to bring it in for repair, as I do not know what to expect and it might get pricey. My thought is that I might have loosened the truss rod out of its place when I completely removed the truss rod nut....but I dont know. Otherwise the neck is nice and straight with still good fretwork. So when fixed, it is a nice neck. The headstock has a top that matches the body. The tuners are included and work like intended. Picures: €450 (which is around 405 gbp today) I will consider trades like a bunch of effects pedals, good electric guitar (fender reissue Japan strat), unlined fretless fender jazz... The bass is located in the Netherlands, but could be shipped.

EBS Fafner Great EBS head, which sounds great in all circumstances. The amp sounds very good clean, but I especially loved to spice things up with the drive function. I used the amp with 8ohm and 4 ohm cabs, but it goes as low as 2ohms. The amp is in very good used condition. I´ve had it checked last week, and also had a new preamp tube installed (thought the old one was fine, I thought id refresh it for the sale). I really like this amp and it has been my favorite for the last 2 years. Though recently I bought and old Music Man amp that I had serviced, that I think is a special one. Besides that Ive purchased an old Marshall head in the meanwhile which also sounds great (but needs some service). Asking €700 - - - > now only €600 ----> Last pricedrop to €550 I might trade for a good fretless (fender Japan, blade b4), bunch of pedals, good electric (Japanese reissue fender jaguar per example). The amp is located in the Netherlands, but could be shipped within Europe/UK. Id probably wrap ´n pack it three times to avoid any damage Please contact me if you have any questions.

Those are really great basses...ive owned one that didn't sound anything less than the 71 telecaster bass I owned shortly before. Though the original pickup had been upgraded. Congrats on your find! I'd say it looks pretty clean now I've got some basses in the past from some very less tidy people... I did barely dare to touch the strings ;). Boiling indeed helps for a while, but nowadays I'd rather buy a new cheap set of strings. -
SOLD: Musicman Caprice Heritage Tobacco Burst

Mine was for sale too, but I've decided to withdrawn it. The necks on these basses are really great which makes the bass easy to play. I like that. From the factory, the nut was cut a little high, so I lowered it... It's so comfortable now. And of course the caprice sounds awesome in all settings.. This might be a future classic! Good luck with the sale. Though you might rethink once you play it again -

Seems like 79 was THE production year for Sabres. Probably because sales didn't go all to great, and they could sell for a long time from their stock. At least that is what I would think. How cool would it be to own a bass for 40 years... That's all my life + 8...seems a long time🙂 It definitely deserves a prominent spot on the wall (next best thing after playing, of course).

KSD Proto-J 5 Lovely 70s style 35´´ scale Jazz Bass. This bass truly plays and sounds great. The neck feels really nice with its smooth finish. In some way it reminds me of some laklands ive played. Action can be set nicely low on this bass, so it plays easily. The is preamp has been upgraded to a John East, which is highly versatile. The bass is in good used shape with only some minor damages/usermarks. Actually it looks pretty fresh and clean. I´ve got this bass in a trade recently, and actually don´t need it. It is a great playing and sounding bass, but I already have to many of those hanging around . Any cool trades? I am looking for a good unlined fretless (blade jazz, fender Japan jazz, jazz bass special), a fretted jazz bass special, or a nice electric guitar (fender strat japan, jaguar...)... Older Japanese Tokai or Yamaha JB600r basses per example are welcome as well. Of course cash sale is still possible too: fixed low price €450. Please note that the price is firm. The bass is located in the netherlands, but can be shipped at buyer's expense and risk. I have no case available, but it will be packed well for insured shipping anyway. If buyer wishes, it's possible to sort out and order a case for shipping. My feedback:
