  1. Gibson SB-450 Cool and rare Gibson from the '70s. Apparently less then 1.000 were made, so there aren't too many of them around. As comparing from the internet (serial numbers and type of tuners), it's likely to be from 1972 or early 1973. I bought it as being a 1972 myself. Pictures: As you can see from the pictures, the bass has been used. It has a lot of user marks and finish checking all over. The bridge has been replaced (original one in poor condition is still there), as well as the truss rod cover. It should be mentioned that the plastic cover of the bridge pickup has broken at the point where the adjustment screw enters. Someone tried to melt it together again, but its still loose. I've set the hight, and left it this way. Further this bass is in good functional condition. The neck is straight and all hardware and electronics function like they should. This bass plays and sounds great. It has an open, clear and full punchy sound. Not what is usually expected from a Gibson. It's also a very light instrument; my kitchen scale says it's only 3,35 kilos! The original hardcase is included. Asking €1.100 (approx £975) Now €750 with hardcase included or €650 without hardcase. The bass is located in the Netherlands. Shipping is possible at buyers risk and expense. Trades are welcome: old fender Mustang guitar, am std strat... 2eq stingray with lacquered neck, bunch of effects pedals, Mustang bass case, cool old Japanese basses.....
  2. The Olympic white on these basses look great especially imo. It looks a little softer, or less white than a Mexican classic 60s. At least how I remember them. Might be due to the use of different paint.
  3. Looks lovely... Beautiful ray. Is the pickguard a replacement?
  4. Got myself a nice precision: It's a late '82 transitional model. It has the 70s 42mm nut neck, and white pickup covers. The body has deeper contours than the 70s models and a overall better fit with the neck.
  5. I've owned a (2006) rickenbacker 4003 for a while. It had a huge fat neck, and the whole bass felt big.. Now I own a '78 4001 which has a a way thinner (and better playable for me) neck. This bass feels much more comfortable to me overall. These to basses look the same, but I think there really is a big difference. And I think the 4001 has a better characterful sound too which I felt a lot less with the 4003. Though I think the electronics (cap) have altered as happened much apparently.
  6. I actually like those discoloured sunbursts... Lovely bass in all aspects!
  7. Huge pricedrop to €750 for a quick sale! Anyone? No trades at this price point. This price is for cash only! Trade value is €850.
  8. One and only pricedrop to €1.350!
  9. It kinda surprises me how Ricks can vary so much in feel. My 4001 feels much "closer" and comfortable than my former 4003 did. The 4003 felt bigger. Maybe it balanced less good because of the much meatier neck. Don't know, but they feel very different for sure.
  10. OK this takes too long.... Any Trades?
  11. Yup, that's a confirmed pretty one..
  12. Sandberg California TT4 Lovely looking, playing and sounding Sandberg California TT4. Made in Germany of course. It's a very well built, high quality bass. It does look great of course, but most importantly it plays and sounds very good too. This TT has the optional blocks as position markers, and some nice flaming in the neck in the right light. The controls are volume/pickup balance/tone. The bass is in overall good condition, but has signs of use (fine scratches/swirls, some dents) and the pickup poles show some corrosion. Though no structural or affecting damages are present. All hardware and electronics work like they should, and the fretwork still looks great too. This bass weighs 4.1kg according to my kitchen scales. Asking €900 The bass is located in the Netherlands, but I am happy to ship insured within europe/UK at buyers risk. I have an ugly hardcase that will be included for shipping. Trades are welcome; Stingray (lacquered neck, 2eq ideally), precision, old musicmaster or mustang if it balances well...
  13. I was seriously thinking about it this morning, when I checked ebay again and the first few pages were full of crap from this seller. As always... He actually has some decent stuff between all the wrecks, but of course way overpriced too. He doesn't seem to sell any of the overpriced crap/stuff, but I assume he has to store all this stuff somewhere.. I don't understand his business..
  14. All true! This is a bass that just can't sound bad. Even with old roundwound strings these G3's sound great. I probably should not sell it...
