  1. These single coil telecasters were in production for just a few years (68-71). From what I think ive read, these were reissued to meet to the demand for the early 50s p basses. So this was actually the first reissue bass by Fender.
  2. Wow, thats a great deal!! You dont need any luck with the sale, it sells today🙂🙌
  3. Fender '71 telecaster bass Scarce single coil tele bass. Its a resonant bass with a great sound. The playability is very good, especially if you like a baseball bat type neck. Action goes low on this one, for an easy playability. The tele seems to be largely original. The tone pot has been replaced, as well as one part of a tuning peg which holds the string. Some wood has been added in the neckpocket to accomodate a tighter fit. The scratchplate has the pearloid backside, as used by Fender in that era. The blonde lacquer has discoloured a lot, to the well known yellow blonde colour. Its discolouring is very well visible with the pickup covers taken off. The bass has been used well, so has its battle scars. There are teles which are quite heavy. This one is pretty light example though. It weighs only about 4kg without covers, and 4,2kg with covers mounted. Ive listed the tele as a Feeler as I am not completely sure about a sale.. I really like this bass, but im thinking about replacing it with a (much) cheaper counterpart as it is not my main bass, and spend the money on something else. Its definitely one of the better sounding and playing Fenders ive laid my hands on. Though it may leave at a good price point. A mid 70s fender hardcase (in good shape) is included in the sale. 45-105 nickel lo rider strings are fitted. Asking £ 3.000 The bass is located in the netherlands. Im happy to ship within the eu. Partial trades considered. Per example; mustang bass, split coil P, fretless, 2eq stingray w lacquered neck, cheaper good quality basses like old tokai...cool amp, effect pedals (compressor)... surprise me! Might consider 1-1 trades when it concerns a great vintage lightweight j or p. Do not hestitate to contact me with any question or a serious trade offer. This ad may be withdrawn when I change my mind.
  4. Fender USA standard Jazz Bass 2004 Very nice sunset orange jazz with ash body. This is a great playing and sounding jazz. A Sadowsky preamp (289 euro) been installed, which is really fabulous. The preamp can be bypassed, so the bass can also be played passive. The body has a very attractive grain to it which is visible through the trans finish. An early 80s fender case is included in the sale. Two bottom standing buttons are missing, otherwise its fine. The jazz is used but overall in good shape with minor user marks like scratches. There is a small damage at the edge of the neck pocket (pictured). An aged pearl pickguard is fitted, though the original parchment pg is also included in the sale. Fairly new 45-105 dean markley blue steel strings are fitted. Please dont mind the G string being toploaded, it seemed to be to short for stb. Asking price: £975,- Sensible trade offers are considered. A good fretless, 4 string Precision (fender avri, early 80s..), musicman 2eq w lacquered neck, mustang bass, cool amp, pedal stuff, fender electric guitar.... Feel free to try me... The bass is located in the Netherlands. I am willing to ship within the EU (includes UK). Do not hestitate to contact me if you have a question or a specific offer.
  5. Fender Precision Bass Deluxe USA Nice Fender five string P deluxe in a delightful cherryburst finish. P deluxe V basses seem to be fairly rare now. These are very versatile basses with a lot of great sound possibilities, which cover a lot of styles. I wouldnt compare this bass to a standard passive precision. The body has some nice grain to it. The fretboard is made from pao ferro which looks awesome. Its smooth and shiny. The serial number dates this bass to 2005, though the neck is dated early 2006. So its got the anniversary label on the back of the headstock. It's defenitely not a heavy weight champion. I did weigh the bass on my kitchen scale, which says it weighs about 4.1kg! Some pictures: As you can see on the pictures, a (original replacement) black pickguard is fitted. The original pearl pickguard is included in the sale. The bass is in good used shape, with only light user marks (scratching on the back). It still looks and feels very fresh. Elixir strings have been fitted. I got this bass in a trade a while ago, as I did want to try a fiver again after a few years. I think its an awesome sounding allrounder, but I still dont like to play fivers it seems... A Fender molded hardshell case is included in the sale Now £1.100 with fender molded hardcase, or £1.050 without. Trades/partial trades are certainly welcome! I like traditionally styled basses, 4 strings only. I would especially like a vintage lightweight precision (could add some money) from the early 70s or late 60s per example, or a vintage mustang bass... Otherwise; surprise me!! The bass is located in the Netherlands. I am willing to ship within the EU (includes UK) at buyers risk and expense. Costs will be about 60gbp with neck attached or 30gbp with neck seperated. Price is firm. I wont include shipping in the price.
  6. Sorry, I have no idea about that. I wouldnt be surprised though if a brand uses the same circuits in their products.
  7. Red Witch Factotum: Awesome pedal, but dont use it that much as I rarely use octaver in my band. I just bought a very versatile overdrive/distortion that I use now. The factotum is near new as it has been gently used and stored. Asking 150gbp Ive also got a pedaltrain metro 16 that could be sold along, as wel as a palmer ubertreiber and a palmer herrenchor. The pedal is located in the netherlands. Cheers
  8. Ive played Squier affinity basses that were actually well playing/sounding. The standard as mentioned above might be a bit better. Both can be very usefull as a cheap backup. You can also look for something japanese like an old westone thunder/spectrum. These are generally good value for the moneyz. And lets dont forget Yamaha RBX series. My experience is with the older ones; fine basses (though lack in character to my taste).
  9. From what i believe to have read a while ago, templates for the bodies were worn out in the 70s, resulting in too wide neck pockets and other sloppy fits. Ive had a few from the 70s which were not built too precisely. They played and sounded well though, but were heavy. Obviously by the early 80s things had changed, these 80s ones are of a very different build quality. I did compare a 79 and an 82 side by side; totally different bodies. So I was surprised to read several posts on the net that the early 80s are (along with the late 70s) a bad era for usa fender. Maybe those persons bought old stock late 70s basses in the early 80s... Anyway; within my experience I would say the early 80s basses are the opposite of avoidable.
  10. I'm wondering why the early 80s are often (topics on the www) referred to as the worst period for Fender when it comes to quality. In my experience, basses from that era are especially very well built. Ive had a 82 precision special, and currently own a 83 standard sienna burst jazz. Both are very well built, much better than most (from second half of the)70s counterparts in my experience; tight neckpockets, good overall fit/finish, way more rounded curves than in the 70s... I cant understand why these fine early 80s instruments seem to have a bad reputation, while big money is paid for late 70s Fenders. Have I been lucky with mine? Please share your experience with early 80s Fender basses, and tell us how good or bad they are :).
  11. Great versatile bass at a good price. Ive got the five string version in the same finish. These are really nice "other fenders". Glwts!
  12. Just added the serial number in the text; C003876. I also changed the trade options. At the moment I am actually looking to sell rather than to trade for another bass. Partial trade offers will still be considered though.
  13. Benoit is a pleasent guy to deal with. I sent him my sandberg and got the G&L asat he was selling. Communication went very well (fast response, clear, all info needed), which I like:). Just did a setup to my taste on the asat, we will spend some time together tommorow. Cheers
