  1. At £400, I think I'll give it a miss. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kay-Generation-Series-Vintage-Thru-Neck-Bass-Guitar-Korean-Late-1970-s/393102807185
  2. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XMAS-SALE-Custom-Yamaha-Neck-4-String-Bass-Guitar/383910097932
  3. Absolutely! Though the thread was initially raised regarding a musical equipment sales scam, it turns out that these are not the only the actual/alleged issues at hand. IMHO, the more who contribute to this with actual first-hand experiences and police/legal cases, the better.
  4. Chumlee...
  5. Something smells about that ad - oh, it's from Cologne...
  6. PayPal Goods/Services; not bank transfer or PayPal Gift/Friends. If you can do face-to-face, then you know you’ve got it. Socially distanced demo is more of an issue.
  7. Them Jaydees are big!
  8. Maybe it could double-up as a zapper!
  9. ...but it sure is kindof cool. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MENSFELD-Ironcross-electric-guitar-Seymour-Duncan-Schaller-Floyd-Rose-and-tuners/224241866897
  10. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/924363723/jammy-g-2020-reddot-award-winning-app
  11. One of the other folks here ended up getting a repayment from the scammer and via their bank's fraud process! (Being honest, he returned one of them.)
  12. In which case, the people who have screendumps of the web pages and chat of him stalking and harassing them would become pertinent...
  13. He is a convicted fraudster, counterfeiter, and liar.
  14. I feel for you. I think he's compartmentalised the fraudulent selling from the ripping off fellow musicians fees.
  15. How did he do the refund? It has been pointed out that it’s still fraud, even after it’s been refunded; I think the line of demarcation is when money has changed hands.
  16. It happened to me here last week (no reason to doubt the seller, just I've decided that's the way forward for me).
  17. Some might consider it to be hassle or an indication you don't trust them; I've had that happen.
  18. Interesting use of a string retainer there...
  19. The re-listed items are still there on Gumtree. https://www.gumtree.com/p/other-guitar-accessories/bass-guitar-hard-case/1394999566 https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-bass-amplifiers/bass-amplifier-/1394999409
  20. It is difficult to find without links to items.
  21. I’ve decided not to pay for items by bank transfer or PayPal friends & family/gift anymore; it does mean that you might lose out on buying some things if the seller won’t accept that, but I’m prepared to walk away if needs be.
  22. You don't see many of these about. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Greco-Steinberger-Licensed-Headless-Electric-Bass-Perfect-Packing-From-Japan-K/184609214224 It is across the pond, though.
  23. It's whack-a-mole time! The two ads were pulled, but have been re-posted. https://www.gumtree.com/profile/accounts/1b8724625a0e9b167460f7e15574815e
  24. Hope you are successful in getting it refunded. Do share the Action Fraud case number when you get it; correlating them all may well help. You can also contact Leicester Police on the link on the previous page. Someone also observed that one of his bands' FB page is back up now...
