  3. So, are the cheap ones going to be Sadwicks?
  4. Plus shipping from Germany seems to be more expensive than from the US & China.
  5. It looks like an open and shut case.
  6. Funnily enough, I painted the base of my pooped treble pickup black too, after I mounted whatever pickup it was onto it. The other option would've been to fit a Hipshot (or Ric) bridge and keep its original lifted one for posterity.
  7. I was wondering about that!
  8. The problem was that the bobbin's plastic degraded and became brittle and just broke up; I think the pickup was straight - that may be just the photo. I checked my notes and it was a Greco (proper Ric-style) pickup I put in it, which I got on the fakers group 🙂 .
  9. My Mat's treble pickup disintegrated on me. (I posted this in the FB fakers group too.) I used the base to mount another pickup on, but I think I may have sold the bass on with a real Ric pickup in it.
  10. Re. microphonic - is it both pickups that do that? Maybe that's why RIC shifted to using a plastic base for the treble pickup (either that or they used up their stock of aluminium sheeting).
  11. There’s a great video of the three of them sitting down over dinner and drinks.
  12. I remember Geddy Lee saying that he found the NME article particularly offensive, as his parents were holocaust survivors. For me, Rush were just painting pictures and you can acknowledge someone’s genius without buying into their ideology. As for the NME, I think that my preferences had diverged from their agenda already by then.
  13. Cool - that’ll be interesting to see. I have a Mat too.
  14. Yep - that’s one of their things.
  15. There can't be anybody who believes that is a Fender.
  16. Yep - that's where I saw them.
  17. My T-shirt says '81. I saw them there on the Permanent Waves tour.
  18. Hi - I'd like those couple of bridges if that's OK. Thanks!
  19. I saw Rush at Bingley too.
  20. It looks like we've lost Neil Peart.
  21. No need for gas - you could just burn it as-is.
  22. A note/plea to the exhibitors: don't forget to take some spare parts to sell, for example: Warwick: I need a Just-a-nut 5-string; UK shops don't want to know and buying one direct (from Germany) includes silly money postage fees. CIOKS: I'm missing a screw, want some Flex cables. Rotosound: Don't forget to take some bass strings to sell! No kidding: I've been to one show where the bass strings were forgotten and another where there was only one gauge. If there's a Rickenbacker dealer, one of the new bass bridges would be interesting. I also like rummaging through junk and spare parts...
  23. Well, the description is quite comprehensive...
