  1. You have to tell it like your experience. The rules are that the seller pays return postage, which is a bit of a ballbreaker if the item is mis-described. I once complained to ebay about that and they covered my postage as a gesture... In my case, it was as described and I collected (I sometimes let my purchases plan my day out for me), so I knew what I was getting.
  2. Cool - you outbid me; I put in a speculative bid even though I don't really need an 8th Ric. Mine was the one with the Zero-Mod fitted and I've no complaints; I went and collected personally.
  3. Looks like she's having a clearout; I bought a Rickenbacker from her last year (and she had another of them which finished yesterday).
  4. The bass is new and has over £2000 of free custom options.
  5. Well, it took Chris a month to get a few Rickenbacker parts to me. But I got it today and when I opened the package he'd put in a copy of Paul Boyer's book too, by way of apology for the delay. Apology accepted!!!! 🙂
  6. Well, it's true that someone has to turn up the volume. I recall someone on the Markbass stand cranking it up stupidly loud to play stuff; I happened across his website a few months back and was surprised to see they he can actually play! But I don't think the headphones are the answer - I tried a Dingwall through some and it was meaningless. Maybe all amps should have to face the wall?
  7. The one I went to, I was in pain at some points.
  8. Thanks for helping me unite my Warwick RB body and neck!

Thanks for the Warwick jack socket - much appreciated!
  10. 1. It's not mine. 2. It's not going to be mine. 3. I'm just off to have a bath.
  11. I fink dat woz a difernt Kays.
  12. I do know someone who has a penchant for burning the Hondo II Ric copies!
  13. There was a video of some guitar savant saying his Kay was worth $1000...
  14. There's no way that will sound as authentic!
  15. Nah - he would've converted it to a 3-string, for the bass player with unusually large hands...
  16. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Early-1960s-Fender-Jazzmaster-Stratocaster-Telecaster-Neck-Shim/202061778163 Seems like a bargain at only £30 + shipping...
  17. Ah yes, I had momentarily mislaid the Kays from my thought processes!
  18. They're probably the bottom of the hierarchy of 70s/80s Ric copies.
  19. This was an Applause one for £99.
  20. Holy necrothreads! Did anybody find out what the OP's bass was? A Hondo II Ric copy is worth maybe £300 (despite the body being plywood); one was famously played by Peter Hook of Joy Division for a while and there's just an auction of his memorabilia including a Hondo II (though not the one he actually played back in the day). I've got a barebones one which I've used to fiddle about with.
