  1. Brilliant, I have been wondering the best way to do this on mine (I also bought a Rothko and Frost decal for the front, sadly my experience of their customer service was less good than yours though). I have been looking at fine nib ink pens but was worried it would spread. I may even have one of those markers in my drawer of rubbish.
  2. What did you use for the signature on the back of the headstock?
  3. Yup, spellchecker accepts Gould’s but doesn’t like Fould’s for some reason.
  4. Three coats on, it’s only a small piece of scrap to see how it looks and I am impressed. What has surprised me the most is even me almost throwing it on it’s produced an incredibly even colour. I though it may need a lot of care to get a good coverage but I have just put a bit of ink on a cloth and wiped it over as per Andy’s instruction. The difference compared to the ‘proper’ wood dye could not be more striking. And being so cheap I will try some other colours on my next build (that word next again....). More bits have arrived in the post as well so now only waiting on the screws for the pick guard and I will have everything.
  5. As mentioned before, time has not been with me the last couple of weeks but I finally got a chance to try out the ink a few minutes ago. @Andyjr1515 I take my hat off to you. It looks fantatstic and goes on so well. I have only done one coat on an offcut but will post up a pic once it’s had it’s extra coats and has been lacquered but suffice to say I am smitten.
  6. I have recently bought a pair of Barefaced cabs and have nothing but praise for them. Ridiculously light and sound amazing. Having the compact/ midget combination gives great flexibility.
  7. I have a five string Gibson EB, I am looking for a four string but don’t have the cash. I would be open to a three way deal if FinnDave was ok with it. (Three way meet up perhaps, you have mine, I have Dave’s, Dave gets the cash). PM me if you are interested (If that’s ok with you Dave).
  8. It’s a great website, but because entry points to abandoned buildings regularly get closed if they become common knowledge then they are guarded on who the info goes to. I know a couple of the lads who regularly go into old mines (a weird interest of mine, my Dad was an electrician but trained in the mines of South Wales). There tend to be little groups who work together and it can be hard to get into. I am not sure many sites would be suitable as if it became known it had happened they would be closed. The obvious one, Denbigh Asylum went up in flames last year. Shame as that was a very spooky place and easy to get into (I understand) but not very ‘industrial’. Parts of the old LDV site would fit the bill but a long way from Hertfordshire.
  9. And look at any of the effects threads on here and what becomes really obvious is whilst there are some ‘better’ and some ‘less good’ pedals it really does depend on individual needs and set up. I have had pedals that some people love but they just don’t work for me, and I am sure my pedal board wouldn’t work for many others.
  10. Not exactly unusual though, I bet a very significant proportion of ads have typos/ predictive text failures.
  11. I must be missing something, unless they have changed it or it’s your band!
  12. My Moskey one is great, there is noise that I can detect at all. I may be lucky I suppose.
  13. Missed a zero perhaps? £2000 would do a backstreet car respray or a decentish one if the car was already prepped (hence the reason my resto will be sprayed at home).
  14. 20 seconds with a Sharpie would make it almost unnoticeable from the apocryphal 10yds
  15. If they paid to have it fixed they would still have to significantly reduce the price and have the possibility of a moan from the buyer. Sell as is (probably still around the cost they paid for it) and no risk. Can make for a good buy, especially something like that which is only cosmetic from the looks of it.
  16. I have bought a Smooth hound transmitter holder from Nick, he was incredibly helpful from the start and I now have a nice bit of kit in my possession which will make life easier. Great to have innovative people like this on the forum. Thanks Nick.
  17. I know it’s embarrassing for the whole band buuuuuttttt....... if a band is tight and the singer goes in to a verse when the band play the chorus or the other way around, every single person in the audience will think the singer messed up not the band behind them. May only need to do it once or twice for them to get the message but may make for a frosty next rehearsal.
  18. Another vote for Tort, but as red as possible. It needs a bit of colour.
  19. I take notes and then copy them for the others. Have still have had one night where as the drummer counted us in I heard a ‘are we doing this in A?’ From the rhythm guitarist, but it all worked out. We get on well in rehearsals and work out between us how it sounds best. We are very democratic but the lead guitarist/ vocalist and drummer are by far the best musicians so it makes sense to listen to them generally if it’s a technical issue.
  20. I use a Mosky power supply on a Chinese made board, works a treat and still have spare outputs but no space on the board for more pedals.
  21. F**k music can be swearing (I remember seeing a band called North meets South at Derby Uni in the early 90s) but if F**k music could be offensive then surely J**z should be pulled by the filter.
  22. .025 and .135 phosphor bronze acoustic strings, Warwick make full length, brand new in packet. Spares from a six string set as I couldn’t find a four string set and these were a decent price. If they are of any use to anyone give me a shout.
  23. Forgot got say that I use u pol filler primer, it is a dull yellow colour. It takes a while longer than normal primer to go off. Somewhere around an hour or so. I always spray a bit of scrap at the same time so I test when it’s gone off as I have lost count of the times I have thought it’s gone off only to find it’s just a skin which I put a finger print in.
  24. Filler primer is worth a go, it hides a multitude of sins as my efforts on cars have proved over the Years!
  25. Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Sounds like they are a similar beast which is good.
