Surprised this is still around at this bargain price! These are great basses, comparable to a decent Fender from that period. Similar to previous post, would have probably gone for this myself too, if I hadn't already got my Tokai & a Fender Roadworn. Have a bump!

6. Had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Goodwin last night at the Thekla in Bristol, my friend plays guitar in his band. Great gig, cracking songs and the band was good, drummer Bo Walsh, in particular was steaming. Jimi took time to have a chat afterwards, lovely humble bloke, very nice to my wife... He was using a precision into an SVT CL . On his pedal board was a Wampler Ego compressor which I think was on most of the time, BOSS LMB-3, EHX Bass Big Muff.
7. *SOLD - Pending Payment * Dimarzio 'Model P' pickup cream (DP122CRM) Brand new in unopened box. Classic precision pickup. Growly, low mids... there's a lot of love for these pickups. 8. *SOLD - Pending Payment* Vox Standard Bass Made by Matsumoku Japan 1982. In pretty good condition, no obvious dinks. Neck is good & straight - quite nice to play, frets have very little wear. I've listed this as a project as it's missing a pickup, but buyer could get a P-Bass pickup to preference and have it installed without difficulty - all electrics, pots & jack socket are still on bass. It's an easy project, was tempted to put an EMG in it myself, but I don't seem to have time or inclination due to pedal builds and other guitars needing fixing. I also need the space! This would make a good quality pub 'beater' bass Please PM me if you have any questions, or need any further info. £50 pickup/collection Bristol Cheers
9. I've been gigging a couple of reasonably priced Vox coiled cables for the last eight or so years with no issues.
10. I've newly acquired this 70's Maya 4001s C64 style in a trade. Restrung with Pyramid black tapewounds - sounds great! This is identical to one I had a few years ago, but sold on to an American collector. At the time couldn't get on with the Ricky shape, though it was a fantastic bass. Gonna give this one a go, see how I get on - maybe I'll keep it. 13.
Nice one thanks - I'll get one. Now the only problem left is to decide cream or black. I've got a black P with a tort pickguard. My gut is saying go with cream...
Coincidentally just put a cream 'Model P' in my old black Tokai couple of days ago. Based on Bassbod's recommendation thought I'd try one, as fancied a change from the 'vintage' sounding p-bass tone. It sounds wicked, with a nice growl, some low mids - great on this bass which is strung with rounds. The output is higher than more 'vintage' voiced pickups, but it's not ridiculously high like Quarter Pounders etc... Still a lot of articulation with it, looks cool too . I'd recommend a Model P p.s. By chance, I've also got a spare brand new cream Model P unopened still in box for sale if you're interested.

16. Another user here, they're great! Standard sized one on my Starfire & a custom made one on the Precision, which tucks in nicely underneath the bridge cover. 17. I would look for a nice old Tokai, or a S/H Fender 'Road Worn'.
18. The late great Alan Spenner And George Murray.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sni7sc7CxD4
19.
We're considering possibilities for a cheaper option to the usual rehersal rooms. Does any one know a good value rehersal space near bath (guitarist and singer in the city drummer in Chippenham and im in bristol). Thinking of church halls industrial units outbuildings etc. Cheers
I rehearsed a few times in the past at Cold Ashton village hall, it's pretty much en route and halfway distance for you all. Maybe worth giving them a call.
