Darkglass / NeuralDSP moving into hardware???? UPDATE: The Quad Cortex
CameronJ replied to fretmeister's topic in Effects
Ask and you shall receive. Almost zero bass demoed here but... -
That would be very cool

Looks very interesting! Though you’d have thought they might allow Boss pedals (one of the most popular pedal formats) to fit under the top row seems like a glaring oversight, and I don’t even own any boss pedals! Still, seems a nice product.
-
Indeed, at £200 for a pair they ain’t cheap. Might be worth getting in touch with BD as they may be able to get you a single neck pickup, allowing you to keep your existing bridge pup
-
Nordstrand have recently answered this very requirement. Their ‘51 Split J pickups are hum cancelling ‘51 Precision pups in Jazz housings. BassDirect sell them at the moment: https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Nordstrand_Jazz_pickups.html

Whilst this is true, for the pedals @mik900 has described I’d just use a One Spot (or similar) daisy chain. Seems a little overkill to get a full blown power supply just for a Sansamp and a tuner.

Featherweight amp head - advice much appreciated please!

Eich T900 or Tecamp Puma 900 all day long. The Tecamp is just the earlier version of the Eich - they’re designed by the same guy. The power to weight ratio is the best I’ve personally come across.- 34 replies

@paul h that is a thing of great beauty!
-
Oh it’s worth it for the sweet, sweet tone.

Have a look at this complete beauty at BassDirect: https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Sandberg_VS5_SH.html If I didn’t already have P basses coming out of my årse I’d be all over it!

I always think of the configuration as a “rough guide” to help visualise what I’d want in a Maruszczyk bass. But if placing an order I’d always do it via email since, as @S.F.Sorrow has discovered, there are a few things which aren’t available in the configurator that they can actually do if asked. I frequently see completed basses on their stock for sale pages with options that aren’t possible in the configurator.

John East P-Retro - never to be made again?
CameronJ replied to CameronJ's topic in Accessories and Misc
Same here! @John-E-Retro, thanks for replying to this thread. Great to know the P-Retro has a future and if there is a wait list I’d definitely like to be on it - I’d take at least one, maybe two for my Dingwall Super Ps! -
Mildly off-topic but has anyone tried/bought/used Ampeg’s Portaflex cabs? By far some of the most visually attractive cabs I’ve seen in a long time, but are they any good?
-
For their flagship bass, that wood matching is pretty reprehensible. Definitely a Friday afternoon job...

I’ve been looking for one of these for quite some time now to no avail. Emailed John East through his website and have had no reply...this was about a month ago now. Has the P-Retro been discontinued forever? Seems like not even @skelf has them anymore for his builds. Say it ain’t so?
-
Ibanez will certainly get you into the 6 string world for a reasonable cost and at a great build quality. What’s your budget?

I’ve posted this elsewhere but I’ll reiterate it here - if size/bulk is a consideration for you when looking for a double case, the Gator is significantly deeper and chunkier than the Mono dual. I took a photo of the two cases side by size at BassDirect a couple of years ago to illustrate the difference. Gator on the left, Mono on the right. Of course, if you aren’t worried about the extra bulk, the Gator is a great case with tons of protection for significantly less money than the Mono!

Met Paul earlier today, selling him my MTD Kingston Super 5. Great communication in the lead up to meeting and a very nice experience chatting to him during our meet. Would highly recommend. Deal with confidence, folks!
