I am on (extensive) record about these. There was never any situation I went in to that this did not deliver on. Backline with bonkers drummer and no PA support? No problem. Nice quiet gig but need rich sound anyway? No problem. Like the tone quiet, but disappointed that it all goes to mush when you turn it up? Not here. All the way down to the very bottomest B or A? Here it is. Do I fancy it? Not half. But my ears are shot and I no longer play with backline. Otherwise I would be sitting here telling you how rubbish it is as I planned my trip to pick it up.

Sadly, this is the truth. That ship has sailed. Anyone with half a musical brain can programme a bass line which will do all they want it to do. Will it be what we crave and enjoy? Unlikely. Will it fill that gap they need filling? Yep.

The one there is not. The chase only there is.

Thanks. It is 20mm and sits in a Behringer 19" rack 4 x DI unit at the mains inlet. In my naive way, I expected google to come up with 70 gazillion options to buy if I typed the numbers in. But the only match I got was a US ebay listing.

Hi all, can anyone translate this for me? I am trying to source a fuse labeled as T100L250v. Can I find them apart from 1 US ebay seller? Can I heck. Any ideas? TIA.

I've gone and done it again....... This time it's a Mesa Boogie

Once you plug it in you will think "hmmm, that sounds lush, perhaps I could keep it for special occasions". -

I know, I know. Mixing different speaker cabs. Comb filtering etc. However, massive air shifting trumps all that malarky -

I had one for a brief period. It appeared at a price I could not resist. I paired it up with a 6x10". It was like being carried on a wave of LF power. I shall never plug into it's like again. I sold it to someone who could actually move it. -
I did a session where I took my passive bass loaded with my finest Fralin J pickups and it went through my Jule Monique pre. It sounded glorious as I put it down. In the final mix it sounded like a bass. Producers do not want the sound in our heads. They want the sound in their heads. That will be a sound they have been listening to for years. Not our fanciest, shiny basses. Also, they will not have time (or sadly, the interest) to audition several different flavours of bass.

The older I get the more lax I get with reading what is actually there. And proof reading, but will come as no suprise to my followers. Imagine my surprise when I did not hear The Cardigans when I pressed play.

I used to be obsessive about this sub forum. I have relaxed a bit about it more recently. But it still brings the same emotions up for me. "I did this Then I did this Then this happened Then I did this And then this beautiful bass appeared." How is this even a thing? How can people get wood and turn them into playable instruments? Crazy madness.

I have turned up at a studio and taken out a vintage instrument and the artist's eyes have lit up like a christmas tree. I do not believe I played any better or worse, but the artist felt that they were getting the real deal.
