1.
Hmm. I've got a couple of their instrument cables but I sincerely doubt I've kept the receipt... The little bungee clip thing for coiling them up is a great idea though, that's half the reason I bought them.
I also hook it round my strap button as a shock absorber in case i tread on my lead, very handy! MB1, did you still have the receipt? One of mine failed on me a few gigs ago and i really like their cables. Seriously doubt i've still got the receipt now though
2. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WARWICK-FNA-JAZZMAN-...93%3A2|294%3A50 £45 postage though, no case too
3.
Hi Kev found this the other day...... could almost be brothers....
Like the look of that, is it for someone? Some interesting basses in the background too! If i sell my Warmoth i might put the money to one side for a bit...
4.
Just picked this up for a very small amount of money as a project bass. It needs rewiring and I think I'm going to have it defretted.
How much did you pay if you don't mind? I love battered old Warwicks! Missed a shabby old Fortress on eBay a couple of years ago for a ridiculous price
5. We must be super awesome, Sex on Fire only took us a few goes! Mr. Brightside always goes down well. We stopped playing Kaiser Chief songs cos we hate em and it seems they aren't that popular anymore. They tended to get more rolled eyes from the crowd than any other modern song I know they're not exactly modern but any Queen and Stevie Wonder tunes are sure fire winners. If you can get the harmonies right Under Pressure is fantastic
6. Bargain! Just got my Curbow 5er and it's mightily impressive
7. Nah not bidding on this, just bought 2 basses! (one was £45 though... plus i think i'm gonna move the other on)
8. What's goin on with this thread, thought i recognised it! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=55058
9. These are always in my local Crack Converters, usually at about £40-£50 depending on condition Was looking for one a while ago for my nephew, one went on eBay for £7.50! That was collection only from Sheffield though
10. The Boss SYB3 has a couple of decent envelope effects on it, not to mention a whole host of other stuff. I had the Dod FX25b and actually preferred the envelope sounds on the Boss. A bit more usable but a little less trebly, also i found a bit of signal loss on the Dod, only with my Warwick though The Boss pedals change hands for around £50 i believe
11.
To me a passive mode switch is for use when your battery is going flat. Otherwise I'd use the actives.
I always thought that way too untl i got the Zoot. The Aero pickups in that sound immense in passive mode. Still better in active though
12. Aye that's the one! They don't sell many guitars in there anyway. Once i asked if i could try a bass, i got the reply: "Well, are you going to buy it?" Cracking sales technique there!
13. Not this one is it? http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=54442 Tried a very similar one to this (was natural with a lined body) and it was very good, although i don't think the shop knew what a setup meant The £45 aria i've just bought off eBay is sweet as a nut too
14. I always preferred my Hartke heads to Ashdown, could always get more top end clarity from them. Don't discount the HA3000 either, i owned that one for a while and it's excellent
15. Our old practice room was broken into a couple of years ago. We'd built the main room inside it, the door was made from the same stuff as the walls. They spent all the time trying to nick my mate's £400 motorbike (and failed), seemingly oblivious to the music room opposite them which contained all our gear We were lucky, they only got away with a few cheap tools and some motorbike accessories. I shudder to think what would have happened if my Hartke stack and Warwick had gone The same lot nicked thousands of pounds worth of kitchen worktops/equipment from another building in the area, drove a flatbed truck there to get it all on. As Alan Partridge would say "Scum, sub-human scum!"
16. In fact i've got a spare one knocking around somewhere. If i can dig it out it's yours!
17. Effect power supplies and Diago make little converter cables, i had one on my Small Clone and it worked a treat. About £6 IIRC
18. Thanks for the strings Bernie!
19. See if this one's stil available: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=52048&hl=eub Also Phlebas off here had a mate who was selling a Stagg one in black for £240, worth seeing if that's still available I bought my Stagg after trying one out, sounded impressive straight away. I read that the Palatino/Harley Benton ones need money and time to get good results and i definitely didn't want to spend more than i had to. Got mine from Soundslive for £299 but i believe they have put their prices up
20. Pretty sure the £299 is the starting bid, no reserve. The guy wants to move it on Mex Fender money for a luthier built bass, the build quality on my Zoot really is impeccable, this bass is a steal!
21.
why do i never find stuff like that?
It had only been on a short while. Save the following search: Electric bass guitars, Buy it now, Newly listed Keep having a look, most of the really cheap good stuff goes in the first hour Works for anything really, got my missus a P3 ultraportable laptop with XP for £20 posted! I also remember seeing a brand new Acer netbook for £50 BIN including postage when they first came out. Clicked the button and it had gone after 2 mins!
22. Are they ok with the Stagg? Says on the ad they're for a 4/4 bass. Assumed in my ignorance that there wouldn't be much difference
23. Quick update on this: I messaged the seller to say it would go if he was willing to post. Seems like a decent guy, it's re-listed and ends today He says he will post and the price is now down to £299 + £25 postage, absolute steal and someone off here should definitely buy it. Then sell it to me when i have the money Ta all Steve
24. Think this was mentioned in the Bass Guitars section, a bit of information on it there Looks tasty i think!
